RETURN ALL SCHOOL MATERIALS TO RECEIVE DIPLOMA & FINAL TRANSCRIPT
by Graduation Practice
The last day for Seniors to return any books and receive their paper diploma at graduation is Thursday, May 30. There is no wiggle room due to the coordination required between the Library and Counseling Staff. If you miss the deadline, you still must return your books or pay the replacement fees. The Library will be open from 8am to 3pm on Monday-Wednesday after graduation. If you miss us, please put your books through the book drop at the Library door. Books left in your teacher’s room, left at the office, in a locker, etc. will not be credited to your account.
SENIOR SURVEY | by Friday, May 24
Look for an email from College & Career Center Director Sasha Goldwasser regarding the “Senior Survey” on Naviance, which you must complete in advance of graduation. The survey includes your indicating where your final transcript should be sent. This is the only way we can acquire this information. If you forgot your login information for Naviance, see your counselor ASAP! You will not receive your diploma at graduation if this survey is not completed.
SPRING INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC CONCERTS
Please join the PHS Music Dept. for our end-of-year Spring Instrumental Concerts at the Alan Harvey Theater.
On Tuesday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m., the PHS Symphonic Band & Jazz Band, directed by Band teacher Trevor Meseroll, will present a combined Spring Concert on the Alan Harvey Theater stage. The evening will include music by Stevie Wonder and Barry Manilow, selections from the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean”, and the jazz standard “Unforgettable” with vocal soloist Nate McKenzie. Several small jazz combos will also be on the program.
Thursday, May 23rd, again at 7:00 p.m., the PMS & PHS Orchestras, directed by Sam Wilde, take their turn on the Alan Harvey Theater stage. Music selections from The PHS High School Orchestra repertoire include the gorgeous Edward Elgar piece “Nimrod”, the first movement of Franz Schubert’s Symphony #5 and music from “Scheherazade” by Rimsky-Korsakov, which is based on the tales of the Arabian NIghts.
The Music Department Senior Awards will be presented to students at these two concerts!
Message from Parents Club on Grad Night
Senior Parents Needed
Our Grad Night Committee has been working hard to plan a memorable and fun post-graduation event that the seniors will enjoy on Friday, May 31, from 6:30pm-12 midnight at a secret location. We are looking for 5 amazing senior class parents who would like to accompany the seniors on their buses after commencement and then chaperone them at their surprise venue. This opportunity is the "last hurrah" for senior parents to spend a special evening with their kid and their classmates. If available and interested, please contact Dana Lung at dana.lung@stanfordalumni.org at your earliest convenience, and she will follow up with you on the secret details.
Junior and Underclassmen Parents Needed
We are also looking for several junior and underclassmen parents to help with pre-Grad Night preparation such as decorations, bus check-in, pizza/water distribution, and other miscellaneous tasks in the late afternoon and early evening on Friday, May 31. If available and interested, please contact Marisa Strong at mxs4ever@gmail.com at your earliest convenience, and she will follow up with you on the details.
