Coach Corey's First Volleyball Tournament
Rankin students have been learning how to play Volleyball in their PE class with Coach Corey. Coach Corey held a tournament with 4th and 5th grade students. Each class was separated into 4 teams. These teams played against one another for a chance to represent their class in the grade level tournaments. These students displayed fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship to achieve their spot in the tournament. This tournament is just one of many that the students will be competing in to receive field day points. Throughout the tournament students demonstrated amazing skills that helped grade level champions edge past the opposing teams.
The 5th grade champions consisted of Audrey Ludwig, Kendall Brooks, Ariliz Camacho,
Paola Sanchez, Lauren Humphrey, and Tahj Whitley.
The 4th grade champions consisted of Parker Center, Emily Pridgeon , Vincent Knight, Brooklyn Moore, Logan Weaver, Cassia Sushko, and Madison McDuffy.
Congratulations to our Tournament winners! Be on the lookout for the next tournament winners and ask your child what they have been learning!

iReady Reading
Each week our students in 1st grade - 5th grade are expected to take two iReady Reading tests and two iReady Math tests. Students must score 70% or higher in order for these tests to count for their weekly goal. The district sets up challenge windows for all GCS students. These windows are typically 4 week periods. Our first GCS challenge window started on Sept. 26 and went through Oct. 31. Students in GCS are challenged to take 8 reading tests and 8 math tests with a 70% or higher pass rate. If Rankin students meet their goal each week, they will have no problem meeting the GCS challenge window goal.
Our students ROCKED on this first challenge window. Here's our Reading stats:
Number of Reading Tests Taken (Sept. 26-Oct. 31)
1st grade = 1063
2nd grade = 1066
3rd grade = 1065
4th grade = 706
5th grade = 859
