Grant Line Buzz

An email will be sent out on October 15 to explain the new guidelines for the IREAD test. This test is now given to both 2nd and 3rd graders. All K - 3 students will receive a letter in their folder/backpack that day, so please check your student's backpack and read over it. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 812-542-5502.

We are excited to announce Grant Line Elementary received an award on September 25, 2024 for being one of 284 schools in Indiana that had an overall IREAD score of 95%. Our 23-24 third graders (current 4th graders) took IREAD in March and the summer of 2024.

This is a huge honor and we want to thank our entire team (students, parents, staff) for all of their hard work.

Mrs. Anderson (3rd Grade ELA teacher), Mrs. Middleton (literacy coach), and Mrs. Satkoski (principal) were very proud to accept the award on behalf of Grant Line. We are SO very proud of our Grant Line students and staff!

October 30 - Book Fair open from 5 - 7 pm

October 31 - Grant Line Spirit Day! Wear your GLE gear + ice cream treat at lunch to celebrate our awesome IREAD scores!

November 1 - Fall Parties, All Pro Dads (6:30 am)

November 8 - Football Spirit Day. Wear your favorite football shirt or colors!

Be sure to use your manners. When someone is helpful, say, "Thank you!" When you need help, say "Please." When greeted by an adult or student you know, acknowledge their greeting with a wave, or say "Hello," "Good Morning!," or "Goodbye!"

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing Fall break. The next few weeks in guidance, I will be discussing safe and unsafe touches as well as stranger danger. If you recall, I sent home permission forms with every student asking parents to give signed consent for their child/children to attend this lesson. Those students who did not return the form or whose parents stated they did not want their child/children to attend this guidance lesson, will go to another classroom at this time at their same grade level.
