PAWSITIVE PAL OF THE WEEK
This week's Pawsitive Pal is Mrs. Pamela Elicker of the Social Studies Department. Mrs. Elicker teaches U.S. History and U.S. Government as well as an online Social Studies section. She also co-leads an engaging and fun-filled Disney Club with Mrs. Kuhn. Mrs. Elicker always has a smile on her face, approaching every topic with a cheerful disposition. She is dedicated to helping both students and colleagues. Most recently, she shared her time and wisdom by mentoring a student teacher. Mr. Walker praised his mentor, Mrs. Elicker, for providing full support while maintaining high expectations. We thank Mrs. Elicker for continuing to strive for excellence in her own career while inspiring the next generation.
Important Information
Information Regarding Good Standing Status
Attention Parents, Guardians and Students: We are continuing to monitor data to determine which students are in good standing and those that are not. If a student is not in good standing their privileges to the cafe will be revoked for one week. Grade and attendance reports are generated on Thursday mornings at 9am. Students and guardians will receive notification Thursday afternoon by email to notify them if they able to visit our wonderful cafe. Participation in the end of the marking period reward and other events can be determined by a student's good standing status. Please reach out to your assistant principal if you have any questions or concerns.
Criteria used to determine good standing:
1. Students must maintain passing grades (60% or higher for the marking period grade). Students are allowed to have one course grade lower than 60%.
2. Students must have 9 or fewer unexcused absences in the past two months.
3. Students must adhere to the student code of conduct as explained in the Student Handbook. Repeated or multiple minor infractions or serious violations result in being removed from good standing.
Counseling
Happy Holidays from the Counseling Office. Course selection for next year has begun! Students were given a course selection sheet for their specific grade level next year. Students received information from their core academic teachers and explored elective options. We will be collecting the sheets back from the students before christmas break. When we return, counselors will start meeting with each student to go over their choices and make any adjustments/changes. Once we have finalized the student’s selections, we will begin to build the master schedule. Our scheduling website is an excellent resource for any of your scheduling questions. Contact your student’s school counselor for questions, thank you!
