What Every Spartan Needs to Know
Senior Picture Opportunity
Senior photos can be expensive. If there are financial barriers to having senior photos done the way you'd like them, please consider the following opportunity:
MHS has partnered with John Maniaci, a parent within the district, for several years to help offer free senior photos for students. John is a staff photographer at UW Hospital and does great work. You will receive a file with all the photos he takes, and you can choose to use one for the yearbook. We will be hosting senior pictures here at the high school in the next few weeks (no date finalized just yet). Please email Mr. Sprenger directly at sprengz@mcfsd.org if you are interested in having your senior photos taken with John. Please let me know ASAP if you're interested so I can let John know how many students to expect. Once I have our full list I'll contact each student individually with more details including what time their session will be.
Pictures are due November 30th. Email photos to yearbook@mcfsd.org. Contact Ms. Fay (fays@mcfsd.org) or Ms. Lindy (wiesmal@mcfsd.org) with any questions.

Students interested in singing can access materials on the mhschoir.org site where there is a link to sign up. Mr Gregg will help anyone learn the music on Tuesday mornings from 7:40 - 8:10 from Oct. 1 until the week of the Pageant. This opportunity is not only available for any MHS student - but any Capitol Pageant alumni!! If you or someone you know has ever sung the pageant, they are invited to join the 100th Capitol Pageant Choir.

WI School Immunization Requirements & Vaccine Clinics
Every school in Wisconsin is required by law to report their student’s vaccination status to the local health department 30 days after the start of school. See WI Student Immunization Law by Age/Grade Requirements. Your student’s health assistant have sent out legal notices at that time if the school has no record or if your student’s immunization status is “behind schedule”. If you are not sure if your student is up to date with immunizations, you can contact your doctor's office/My chart or you can look them up on the Wisconsin Immunization Registry using your child's social security number and/or Medical ID. If you need access to a waiver (for personal, religious or health reasons) for any vaccination, please utilize the student immunization record (English, Spanish) see step 4 and return it to your student’s health office.
‼️ Please review DHS update regarding increased Pertussis cases in Wisconsin‼️
Vaccine Clinics: Public Health Madison & Dane County is partnering with surrounding school districts and SSM Health in a few weeks to offer more school vaccine clinics to get students up to date on their school vaccines in time for the 2024-25 school year. These clinics will take place at multiple locations and dates. Find more information and to schedule an appointment see the attached flyer (English, Spanish), or via publichealthmdc.com/schoolclinics.
