You will receive an email from your teacher by noon on July 29th, and if you don’t please call our office at 317-773-0582 so we can help you know which room to visit. Our counseling and resource teams have moved around a bit, so be sure to walk around and find support staff to say hello on this night too. Please bring ALL school supplies on this night if possible so your child does not have to have such a heavy backpack on the first day of school! 1st Day Info
Students will begin their first day on Wednesday, July 31 and if you are new to Noblesville Schools, we do not allow parents to enter the building with their child for class. We also do not allow lunch guests until after Labor Day. We LOVE guests, but have safety protocols and needed routines to establish with our students in the first weeks of school. Try to start your routines this week with bed time and waking up and getting ready for the day. This will help everyone have a great start to the year!
Car Rider Information
DROP OFF
Morning drop off begins at 7:35
Late start Wednesday drop off begins at 8:15
Students will need to exit the vehicle on the RIGHT side onto the sidewalk for safety reasons. Please make sure they can unbuckle and be ready to open the door to get out when you pull up along the sidewalk. Staff only help students open the door if they are new to the process, and we are really wanting them to be independent by the end of August. We ask family members to stay in the car please!
There is a lot of traffic backed up on Greenfield Avenue during car riders, so please make sure your child is not using electronic devices or eating breakfast when you pull into the parking lot. They need to be ready to exit, so you can move on and the traffic can keep flowing!
AFTERNOON PICK-UP
Pick-up times:
2:23 Students with last names starting with A-M
2:25 Students with last names starting with N-Z
If you plan to pick up your child in the afternoon, you will want to have one of our signs for each vehicle involved to speed up the afternoon line too! Click this link and we will print you a sign: Car Rider Sign

Safety Drill Information
Dear Families,
Providing a safe and secure learning environment for students is of paramount importance at Noblesville Schools. Many of these practices are proactive measures aimed at creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Additionally, Noblesville Schools utilizes a safety program that focuses on our response to an armed intruder called ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate). The ALICE protocols provide options to students and staff when facing threat or harm from an intruder.
The ALICE Training Institute (https://www.alicetraining.com/) is a wonderful resource that can provide you with more detailed information on the training that all Noblesville Schools’ staff members have received. We hold four drills per year (two each semester). Please be aware that there are levels of the drill process progression when ALICE protocol is being practiced. We start the year having staff go through a safety checklist of items to review with students during the first week of school. Our first safety drill consists of a Tabletop Activity where classes talk through safety scenarios in small discussion groups. We then transition into drills where we continue to practice our ALICE protocols and how we would respond in various situations. These drills look different at each developmental level.
The staff at Noblesville Schools are aware that these drills can trigger physical or emotional responses in students. Teachers are being trained to look out for some of the warning signs and coached on helpful language they can use to support students in the moment. We are working to normalize this for students and to help students in identifying trusted adults they can turn to if they need to process before, during, or after a drill. Please contact your child’s school counselor or social worker with any concerns you may have with how your child may be processing these safety drills.
Sincerely,
Dr. Heather Hendrich
Assistant Superintendent of HR/Safety

Professional Development Days
Families and Staff-
Attached please find for your reference the 2024-2025 calendar.
Please note that we will no longer use eLearning on educator professional development days. We have also reduced educator professional development days to four scheduled dates throughout the school year and students will have these days off from any academic assignments. The scheduled days for the 2024-2025 school year are:
Wednesday, August 21, 2024
Friday, November 1, 2024
Friday, January 31, 2025
Wednesday, February 26, 2025
Why Did We Make This Change?
This change will allow our families to enjoy time off together without managing challenges associated with eLearning. Additionally, our educators will be able to engage in higher quality, better focused learning of their own since they will no longer be supporting students on these days.
Will This Mean a Longer School Year?
No. Since Noblesville Schools is a top academic performing district, and our school day provides educational time beyond what is required by the state, we can make this change away from eLearning days without extending the school year.
Why Do We Need Professional Development Days?
Professional development days are a critical investment to ensure that all other days of the school year are of the highest-quality possible for our students. On these days, teachers attend training, analyze student data, and make ongoing improvements to curriculum, teaching plans, and assessments to improve student learning. Other staff members also participate in trainings to improve the operations of our schools.
Will We Still Have Late Start Wednesdays?
Yes. These are also an important investment of time for educator planning, data analysis and development in support of students.
Will We Ever Use eLearning?
Yes. We will still use eLearning as needed for inclement weather days and any other occasional circumstances where it may be required.
What if I Need Childcare Assistance on Professional Development Days?
Our Miller Explorers childcare program will work to accommodate families who may need childcare on these scheduled professional development days.
In-Home Child Identification Kits
Dear Parent,
Noblesville Schools will be distributing an in-home child identification kit to k-5 students as a gift of safety on behalf of the State of Indiana. Please understand that there is no obligation to fill out the kit, but it will allow you to have a set of fingerprints and DNA for your child. If the unthinkable occurs, you have important information that you can turn over to law enforcement immediately.
The kit is invaluable to law enforcement as a time saving tool during a most chaotic time.
These kits are to be STORED AT HOME in a safe and accessible place and only turned over to law enforcement in an emergency. The information will never be collected and put into a database.
As your child’s Principal, I am always looking for ways to protect our students from harm or assist in their safety.
Please make use of this gift, fill it out and let’s hope it is never used.
