CUBS' CONNECTION
NOVEMBER
A TIME FOR GRATITUDE!
We appreciate your time as you volunteer in our classrooms, at school events, and even at home. Valley View is truly a unique school due to our team effort of providing additional experiences beyond the regular classroom. Programs like, Science Lab, 21 Commons Tinkerlab, Cubs Choice, Art Docent, and special assemblies are all examples of these. We hope to continue to add even more!
I am especially grateful for all the staff at Valley View Elementary School! I have never worked with a more dedicated team of professionals who care about children and giving them their best everyday. Thank you to the entire Valley View team!

SUPERVISION REMINDERS:
Supervision begins on our playground at 7:30am. Please remain with your child until this time. Even though you may see staff arriving at the back of school before this time, supervision still begins at 7:30am. After school, students need to be picked up or walk home immediately as supervision ends at 2:35pm.
Close and careful watch continues to be needed at all times while you are driving on our school campus. Children can be dropped off near crosswalks to be crossed by our guards or dropped off in the parking lot loop. Please have students exit your cars on the sidewalk side of the car. Also, patiently wait for the cars in front of you to leave in an orderly fashion. If you need to get out of our parking lots quickly, then consider dropping your student off on the street near a crosswalk. All of us prefer patient parents in our parking lots. Lastly, only families with kindergarten students are to be using the upper parking lot near the administration office.
ON CAMPUS AFTER SCHOOL IS DISMISSED:
Please supervise your children on campus after school while visiting with friends or waiting. Just like you at your home, we want to preserve our plants and trees at school too. Please keep your children out of the bushes and from pulling on tree branches. During school, children are taught to walk all over the campus. This is the expectation after school as well. Lastly, the handrails are never for climbing or swinging. Thank you in advance for helping us to keep all our children safe!
LOOKING BACK...
STUDENT COUNCIL BEGAN WITH KINDNESS & COMPASSION!
Our 4th-6th grade leaders started off the year with a project focused on others. Kindness and compassion are among the most admirable qualities we can pass on to our children. They were very excited to accumulate as much as they could to GIVE away. 2,097 non perishable food items were collected and donated to KCRA for local food banks and family services. Thank you families for supporting this worthy endeavor!
