Talking About Racial Incidents
The school counselors are working with other staff members and students to plan for when we return in the fall. We want a safe environment for all of our students and especially for our Black students. There is a lot going on in our world today and young people need to talk about these issues and ask questions. Please check out these resources that will help you start a conversation. Let us know if you have questions or need support.

Students must also email their CFHS teacher to request a Pass for their CFHS grade.
IMPORTANT SENIOR EXIT INFORMATION
Class of 2020 SENIOR EXIT INFORMATION
CFHS Honors Convocation can be aired using this link.
- CFHS Commencement can be watched using this link - Cedar Falls High School Commencement 2020.
Please let your school counselor know if you still need help filling out your FAFSA! Contact ICAN (Iowa College Access Network) for a virtual appointment if you need assistance.
When you completed your senior exit survey, you indicated to the school counseling department where to send your FINAL TRANSCRIPT. Please share this information with your parents so they do not have to call to confirm unless there is a change. Final transcripts will be mailed in mid-June and are FREE. Many colleges will request that you have them sent earlier, however, we are unable to accommodate that until grades are finalized for all students. If you decide to attend a different school then requested on your senior exit survey, please call 553-2501 or email your school counselor.
School Google accounts (email and drive) will be deactivated at the end of June. Transfer your school Google Drive to another Google account or archive your information. Transfering is probably the easiest and quickest method. Below are two videos to help with this process. If you need any help, check with Mrs. Anhalt. Your accounts will be closed by the end of June.
Seniors who took Hawkeye Concurrent classes or PSEO classes are responsible for REQUESTING AND SENDING TRANSCRIPTS to the college they are attending. Please contact Hawkeye and/or UNI to request a transcript with the information below. If you are taking concurrent or PSEO classes this semester, you might want to wait until mid-June to contact the college. Otherwise, you can do it as soon as possible.
HAWKEYE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
All requests for transcripts are made through the National Student Clearinghouse. You will need to follow the steps below to order your transcript. There is a fee of $4.05 that you will need to pay via credit or debit card while ordering. You will also need your Hawkeye ID or Social Security Number.
Go to Hawkeye’s website at www.hawkeyecollege.edu
Click on Academics
Under records and registration, you will click on Request a Transcript.

- Will my FAFSA® application be processed if my school is closed?
ED's Central Processing System will process your FAFSA information and will send it to each school you list on your FAFSA form. If your school is completely closed, check your school's website for resources and contact information. Your school's verified social media accounts also may be a good source for the latest information about how to contact your school during this time.
- Is it too late to fill out a FAFSA® form?
No. Both the 2019–20 and 2020–21 FAFSA forms are available at fafsa.gov. It's possible that you've missed deadlines for aid from your state or school, but the federal FAFSA deadline for 2019–20 is June 30, 2020; and the federal deadline for 2020–21 is June 30, 2021.
- Can I update my FAFSA® information if I (or my parent) lost a job because of closings due to the coronavirus outbreak?
If your or your family's financial situation has changed significantly from what is reflected on your federal income tax return (for example, if you've lost a job or otherwise experienced a drop in income), you may be eligible to have your financial aid adjusted. Complete the FAFSA questions as instructed on the application (including the transfer of tax return and income information), submit your FAFSA form, then contact the school you plan to attend to discuss how your current financial situation has changed. Note that the school's decision is final and cannot be appealed to ED
ACT updates for June test
UNI will NOT be hosting a JUNE ACT test date. They are working on being able to host a July test date.
During the week of May 26, ACT will notify students and announce all test center closings and cancelations for the June 13 test date. However, as ACT and other agencies navigate ongoing developments, testing at any test center is subject to change at any time between now and June 13, 2020.
You may receive a notification from your school about the status of testing. Please note you will also receive an official notification from ACT with important instructions and next steps.
We encourage you to check back for the latest updates and resources or view the Frequently Asked Questions below.
If at any time you prefer to move your ACT registration to the July 18, 2020 ACT national test, you may change your registration, without a change fee, by signing into your account.
If you have any additional questions, please contact help@act.org.
Hunter talks to Mrs. Langan about ACT updates and prep, college exploration, including virtual visits, and our upcoming ICAN Financial Aid meeting on May 5th. Check out the video and helpful links.
