Adjusted School Calendar Due to Weather Closures
Dear Families,
We hope this message finds you well! As you may know, Maryland law requires all school districts to have at least 180 school days and meet specific instructional hour requirements for elementary, middle, and high school students.
Due to this year’s winter weather, we have had five school closures and four delayed openings/early dismissals. To ensure our students receive the instructional time they need, we will be making the following adjustments to the school calendar in addition to the February 14 change from a professional development day to a school day:
March 5 – Full school day (No Delayed Opening)
March 17 – Regular school day for students
June 16 – Regular school day for students
June 17 – Regular school day for students
June 18 – Full school day (No Early Dismissal)
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work to provide the best learning experience for our students. If additional changes are needed due to inclement weather, we will keep families updated.
Thank you for your continued support!

Information to Parents/Guardians from School Nurse
Immunizations
All children by law must have the required State of Maryland immunizations in order to attend school. Parents are responsible for providing proof of immunizations to the school.
If your child receives an Immunization Exclusion Letter this school year, please contact your child’s healthcare provider to make sure your child is up to date with immunizations. Please provide the updated immunization record to the School Nurse. If not provided, your child will not be able to attend school effective the date stated on the Immunization Exclusion Letter. If your child doctor’s appointment date falls after the exclusion date on the Immunization Exclusion Letter, your child will still be excluded from school. If you have any questions please contact me at rayvenia.farrow@pgcps.org or (240) 696-8788.
Health Concerns
Parents/Guardians please complete the blue form that was given to your child indicating any medical conditions and allergies. Please return the form to the child's teacher as soon as possible.
Medications
No medication will be administered to your child without a completed Prescriber’s Medication Order Form (PMOF) and properly labeled medication container. Below is the link for Medication Forms.
If your child had medication(s) at the school last year, a new Prescriber’s Medication Form (PMOF) must be completed for this school year. A new properly labeled medication container must also be provided to the nurse.
