Johnson Newsletter
May 18, 2025
Dear Johnson parents and guardians,
4 days filled with BIG events! Guests are welcome to our kindergarten and 5th grade graduation. I will notify everyone by parent square how to access a video of 1st-4th award programs.
If you still have an iPad or charger at home, please send it in ASAP! Thank you.
During the summer, I will still post birthdays on the sign out front. I don't want any student to miss seeing their name!
This is your LAST JES newsletter for the school year. My newsletter goals were to communicate and celebrate...I hope I accomplished that.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude to all the Johnson families for making my first year as principal truly exceptional. Your kindness and warm welcome have meant so much to me. I deeply appreciate your ongoing support. Johnson is fortunate to have such wonderful students, staff, and families. I am already looking forward to year two!
Have a wonderful summer!

PreK-Kindergarten 2025-2026
If you know someone who has preschool or kindergarten age child, but they were unable to attend the enrollment night, it is not too late! They can call the school (812-752-8923) and we can get the enrollment process started!
PRE-K PARENTS: Make sure you have the On My Way PreK application completed! It is important for ALL PreK (2025-2026 school year) parents to complete this! The longer you wait to complete this application the longer it will take you to be approved for funding. We don't want funding to run out prior to you getting approved. Let us know if you need ANY help completing this application.
Summer Reading ๐
Scott County School District #2 is gearing up for summer break. While summer presents an opportunity to relax and enjoy the sunshine, we want our students to continue to find ways to learn while away from the classroom.
In addition to our regular ebook collections, we have an exciting reading program available called Sora Sweet Reads, which provides free 24/7 access to ebooks and audiobooks. What better way to engage studentsโ minds than through reading?
You can explore the title offerings and learn more about the program here: https://resources.overdrive.com/sora-sweet-reads/.
How does it work? Sora provides the quickest and easiest way to get started with digital titles from our school. Students can simply log in using a school Google account and instantly access our digital library on virtually any device.
Get started today at https://soraapp.com or download the free Sora app for Android or iOS. This year, we welcomed our elementary readers into the online library. Watch this video for a quick login tutorial for our young readers.
Did your child LOVE bowling? Take advantage of this free summer program!
