Dear Bear Creek Families,

It was great to see our families support Bear Creek at TCBY on Thursday evening. These events not only provide a boost to PTA, they also serve as opportunities to connect with one another. It has been years since I have had FROYO and clearly I have been missing out. Looking forward to the next PTA Spirit Night Event.

The beginning of year MAP window closes Friday, September 20th. Once the window closes, your child's teacher will print and send home MAP reports. These reports will go home with students on Friday, September 27th.

Don’t miss our 2nd annual fall festival, Bear Creek Limits! The last day to purchase wristbands before BCL is September 20th. Be sure to secure your wristband before then so you can enjoy the festivities as soon as you arrive!

Each child participating in the event will need a wristband. Adults DO NOT need to purchase a wristband.

I want to end this section with a special thank you to Monica Howeth. Mrs. Howeth stepped into a vacant music position last year and brought positivity, charm, and a passion for music to her classes. She was a wonderful partner to James Christian as he developed the first ever grade level performances for Bear Creek last year. As a long-term substitute, she went above and beyond by opening her classroom early for music exploration and staying into the evenings to assist with the music events. Needless to say, we were are delighted when she agreed to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. We all truly adore Mrs. Howeth and have our hopes set upon her future return. We wish her the best and know that her next campus is fortunate to have her.

The GT Referral Window Is Now Open

Later this semester, Bear Creek Elementary will begin screening for Gifted & Talented (GT) services. If you feel your child should receive the screening, please see the attached flyer with details about the referral process. If you have any questions about your child's performance in class, please reach out. If you have any questions about the referral process, please contact our campus GT advocate, Mr. Christian. CAC Meeting

Our first meeting was September 9th at 3:30 pm. Minutes from the meeting will be linked in the Cub Hub after they are approved in October. Remember you do not have to be a voting member of the CAC to attend. our next opportunity is October 7th at 3:30 pm in the library.
