Welcome back from the Thanksgiving Break! Hope you enjoyed the time to spend with family and friends. We ended the last couple of days before break with a bang - a 4th and 5th grade Thanksgiving parade and our dunk tank!

Hundreds of Lost and Found items are on display in the front of the school and we’d like to get them back to their owners. Please check for any missing items as any remaining items will be donated on Friday.

Starting tomorrow, Dec 3rd, Quarks will take the second iReady Diagnostic test for the year. This test, in both reading and math, is a great measure to see the progress that students have made since the beginning of the year and how they are progressing. Teachers have been closely monitoring iReady progress and working with students to set goals. Once the test is complete, students will also receive adjusted My Path lessons based on their overall placement. We will start Reading this week and Math will be next week. Please make sure that your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a hearty breakfast, and arrives at school on time on the day of the test. All students will need to complete the second diagnostic before winter break and scores will be sent home to families once the testing is complete.

We have three jam packed weeks before our Winter Break, December 21-January 6th. We have a calendar change - the last day before break, December 20th is a minimum day with dismissal at 12:25. Friday January 17th is now a regular school day with dismissal at 2:45. Please make sure to update your calendars. Every day counts!

Our next Create with the Principal is Wednesday December 4th at 8:30 am. Come and create a Russian holiday ornament led by one of our very own QA parents! As we craft, we encourage families to ask questions and seek answers as we build community and our holiday spirit.

Reading is critical and fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health. Our scholastic Book Fair is coming up next week! Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:30am-1:30pm, Thursday 9:30am-12:30pm.

How to Shop: Students can shop at lunch or with their class, or families can shop online! 25% of every online purchase during the fair directly benefits our school!
