The staff of PLA@ Jones Clark Elementary is committed to improving scholar outcomes and are getting better each and everyday mastering our Virtual SOAR.

Thursdays are Tour Days @ JC. Team members across campus wear college shirts. We are maximizing our Virtual time together. During Homeroom, scholars across campus took virtual tours to colleges across the nation. Pictured below are a few virtual college tours last week. We are intentional in our quest to make sure our scholars are well.

National Teddy Bear Day: Wednesday , September 9 .

Our daily goal is 97% of our scholars present.

• Complete daily assignments. Connect with your teacher everyday for attendance purposes.

Respect is admiring or looking up to someone because that person has done something extraordinary or possesses impressive abilities. Respect is also an act of giving attention or showing care.

How to teach Respect in the Classroom:

1. Stay calm and don’t overreact when you “think” the scholar is being disrespectful.

2. Identify the cause for disrespect and focus on teaching problem solving alternatives.

3. Model how to be respectful by respecting others,

4. Model kind and firm discipline to teach and not to punish.

5. Give or show respect in the classroom

6. Apologize when you make a mistake.
