Line Creek Lowdown
January 31st, 2025
Welcome!
Hello Line Creek Families,
Today was a special day at Line Creek! We gathered for an all-school sensory-friendly assembly to celebrate our students' hard work and growth. Our school met the district NWEA growth goal in math during this second testing window, and we marked the achievement with a popcorn party for all students!
We also had an exciting introduction—our brand-new school mascot, Lenny the Lion! A huge thank you to our wonderful PTA for making this possible through their fundraising efforts. We are so grateful for their ongoing support of our school community.
Students also received exciting news—Line Creek will be taking an all-school field trip to see Charlotte’s Web at the Folly Theater on April 30th! More information is coming home with students today, so be sure to check their backpacks.
We are so proud of our students and all they are achieving—Go Lions!
Thank you for all you do!

Spring Parties-April 4th
This year we are making two changes in our building related to Valentines Parties. The first change is that we are moving our spring parties away from February 14. This year, our spring parties, hosted by PTA will be on Thursday, April 4th.
In keeping with this change, we will not be exchanging valentines at Line Creek. We understand that holidays are very important to our entire community. We will continue our practice of recognizing holidays at school without celebrating holidays. There are many opportunities for students to participate in holiday celebrations with their families, community groups or friends outside of school. While we are at school, we will focus on creating opportunities that all students will be able to enjoy without the need for students to opt out of activities. We thank you in advance for your support and understanding.
Career Day
Line Creek families, we need your help! We are seeking 22 more community members to share all about their career with our K-5 students (ages 5-11) on April 25th, 2025. If you are interested and available, please fill out interest form here - https://forms.gle/dRr65YQX64Z5TtJw6! Feel free to bring in handouts, treats, or tools you need to perform your job! Please reach out to Mrs. Paddack at lewisl@parkhill.k12.mo.us with any questions!

Line Creek Arrival and Dismissal Processes
Daily Transportation
For the safety of all our Lions, communication is the key! During Back to School Night, please ensure you communicate with your child’s teacher the details of your child’s mode of dismissal transportation.
Arrival
- Students may arrive at 7:55 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:15 a.m.
- After 8:15 a.m., students will need to go through the front office to check in and order lunch.
- Students may not enter earlier than 7:55 unless attending a before school club, because there is not adult supervision until 7:55.
- As soon as busses and car riders arrive at 7:55 am, they may go straight to their classroom or stop at the cafeteria for breakfast.
- Breakfast is served from 7:55 to 8:15 am.
- Instruction begins at 8:15 am.
- Students arriving after 8:15 am are considered tardy.
Dismissal
Families must establish their child as one of the following:
Bus Rider (Front of the building): Your student's ID badge will designate their bus information. A sticker with their bus number will be placed on the back of the badge on the first day of school. Please confirm your child's bus number with his/her teacher.
Car rider (North side of building): All families with car rider students will receive a car name tag to place in the front car window to assist teachers assisting with student pick-up. car rider tags will be handed out at back-to-school night.
- Walker (South side of building): Due to safety, we are unable to dismiss you from the office. Walkers will be encouraged to walk along Waukomis on the east side and to meet with families at 58th St. If students need to cross Waukomis they will be encouraged to cross at 56th Terr. Staff will be available to help students with any questions during the first two weeks of school.
To ensure a safe dismissal, students won’t be dismissed from the office between 2:50-3:20. Please submit transportation changes by 2:00. Thank you!
Bus information is available in Infinite Campus for students assigned a bus before August 4th. We recommend contacting First Student if you have any concerns regarding your child’s stop. First Student can be reached at 816-359-4560 or contact Kay Burnos at kay.burnos@firstgroup.com
During the year, please notify the school office of any transportation changes prior to 2:30 pm. Thank you for your assistance!
Special Construction Note: NW Waukomis Dr will be closed north of Line Creek until further notice. Waukomis south of Line Creek is open.
Transportation
In June of 2023, Park Hill adjusted the bus transportation boundaries to help alleviate the shortage of bus drivers in Park Hill School District. This adjustment includes only offering bus transportation to students living within a defined distance from their school:
· Elementary School Students – 0.5 miles from school
· Middle School Students – 1.0 mile from school
· High School Students – 1.0 mile from school
Several of our neighborhoods were previously receiving bus services, because of a construction safety variance. Because the construction south of Line Creek on Waukomis is complete, the district will be removing the safety variance and will no longer be providing bus transportation to families who live within the 0.5 radius.
We know this may be difficult for some families. If you have questions you’d like to share with our Transportation Department, please email them at transportation@parkhill.k12.mo.us.
Thank you for making this adjustment with us, and please connect with us if you need support.
School Lunch
Students may bring their lunch from home or purchase a school lunch from the cafeteria. Students also have the option to purchase a breakfast upon arrival at school. See breakfast and lunch pricing:

Classroom & Birthday Treats
To protect the health and safety of our students, homemade treats will not be distributed to students in the Park Hill School District. Due to allergies and other food intolerances, please consult your classroom teacher before sending any pre-packaged treats to school.
Students may bring a birthday treat or favor to school to share with their classmates, as long as they come from our list of treats that contain none of the eight (8) major allergens - milk, wheat, egg, soy, peanut, tree nut, fish and shellfish.
Thank you for understanding that all classroom treats must come from this list because we do not have the staff capacity to check for allergens that could threaten the health of some students. Please bring birthday treats ahead of time (two hours after the start of school, at the latest).
