Student Medication
Line Creek Parents,
Does your student have medication in the health room? If so, this medication needs to be picked up by a parent/guardian no later than May 29th at 11:30am! There are a lot of events coming up at school in May so if you are attending those events, please consider stopping by the health room to pick up your students’ medication! Of course, if your student takes a daily medication, you can leave that medication here until 11:30am on the last day of school. All medication left in the health room after 11:30am on May 29th will be wasted and thrown out; this includes inhalers and EpiPens. Please reach out with any questions!

Keeping You Informed: APR Information & Updates
In an effort to keep families informed and updated on frequently asked questions, we will continue to share information about APR and our ongoing plans at Line Creek.
4/18/2025
Line Creek Families,
We realize that the APR letter shared may have raised some questions and we want to be able to answer those questions! This week we had the opportunity to sit down and talk with several PTA board members to bring some clarity to what exactly the letter means for our school community. One topic that came up was understanding the difference between the NWEA Growth test that grades K-5 take three times throughout the year and the MAP Test that grades 3-5 take at the end of the year. You will see the difference between the two tests outlined in the graphic below. Our building APR is calculated using the end of the year MAP test achievement score, growth score and also attendance.

What is APR and how is this calculated?
As part of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s accountability system, the Annual Performance Report (APR) for elementary schools is calculated using data from MAP proficiency, MAP growth, and student attendance. Each school’s performance is compared to all schools across the state to determine a ranking.

How will we be working to improve our APR score at Line Creek?
As we work to improve Line Creek’s Annual Performance Report (APR) score, we are placing a strong focus on enhancing Tier 1 instruction and increasing student attendance. These two areas are key to ensuring all students receive high-quality, consistent learning opportunities. The building principal and leadership team are revising the goals and action steps in our Building School Improvement Plan to reflect these priorities. We look forward to sharing the updated plan with you at a PTA meeting this fall. We appreciate your continued support.
Using our quick and easy online application system, parents of returning students will verify their students' demographic, health, emergency contact and residency information for each school year.
And like last year, we will be offering enrollment in our summer school programming through the online verification and residency process.

Line Creek Arrival and Dismissal Processes
Daily Transportation
For the safety of all our Lions, communication is the key! During Back to School Night, please ensure you communicate with your child’s teacher the details of your child’s mode of dismissal transportation.
Arrival
- Students may arrive at 7:55 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:15 a.m.
- After 8:15 a.m., students will need to go through the front office to check in and order lunch.
- Students may not enter earlier than 7:55 unless attending a before school club, because there is not adult supervision until 7:55.
- As soon as busses and car riders arrive at 7:55 am, they may go straight to their classroom or stop at the cafeteria for breakfast.
- Breakfast is served from 7:55 to 8:15 am.
- Instruction begins at 8:15 am.
- Students arriving after 8:15 am are considered tardy.
Dismissal
Families must establish their child as one of the following:
Bus Rider (Front of the building): Your student's ID badge will designate their bus information. A sticker with their bus number will be placed on the back of the badge on the first day of school. Please confirm your child's bus number with his/her teacher.
Car rider (North side of building): All families with car rider students will receive a car name tag to place in the front car window to assist teachers assisting with student pick-up. car rider tags will be handed out at back-to-school night.
- Walker (South side of building): Due to safety, we are unable to dismiss you from the office. Walkers will be encouraged to walk along Waukomis on the east side and to meet with families at 58th St. If students need to cross Waukomis they will be encouraged to cross at 56th Terr. Staff will be available to help students with any questions during the first two weeks of school.
To ensure a safe dismissal, students won’t be dismissed from the office between 2:50-3:20. Please submit transportation changes by 2:00. Thank you!
Bus information is available in Infinite Campus for students assigned a bus before August 4th. We recommend contacting First Student if you have any concerns regarding your child’s stop. First Student can be reached at 816-359-4560 or contact Kay Burnos at kay.burnos@firstgroup.com
During the year, please notify the school office of any transportation changes prior to 2:30 pm. Thank you for your assistance!
Special Construction Note: NW Waukomis Dr will be closed north of Line Creek until further notice. Waukomis south of Line Creek is open.
Transportation
In June of 2023, Park Hill adjusted the bus transportation boundaries to help alleviate the shortage of bus drivers in Park Hill School District. This adjustment includes only offering bus transportation to students living within a defined distance from their school:
· Elementary School Students – 0.5 miles from school
· Middle School Students – 1.0 mile from school
· High School Students – 1.0 mile from school
Several of our neighborhoods were previously receiving bus services, because of a construction safety variance. Because the construction south of Line Creek on Waukomis is complete, the district will be removing the safety variance and will no longer be providing bus transportation to families who live within the 0.5 radius.
We know this may be difficult for some families. If you have questions you’d like to share with our Transportation Department, please email them at transportation@parkhill.k12.mo.us.
Thank you for making this adjustment with us, and please connect with us if you need support.

Classroom & Birthday Treats
To protect the health and safety of our students, homemade treats will not be distributed to students in the Park Hill School District. Due to allergies and other food intolerances, please consult your classroom teacher before sending any pre-packaged treats to school.
Students may bring a birthday treat or favor to school to share with their classmates, as long as they come from our list of treats that contain none of the eight (8) major allergens - milk, wheat, egg, soy, peanut, tree nut, fish and shellfish.
Thank you for understanding that all classroom treats must come from this list because we do not have the staff capacity to check for allergens that could threaten the health of some students. Please bring birthday treats ahead of time (two hours after the start of school, at the latest).
