TESTING WEEK SEPTEMBER 16 - SEPTEMBER 19
TERRA NOVA TESTING: Terra Nova testing will begin on Monday and conclude on Thursday for students in Grades 2 through 8. Please be sure to have your children arrive at school on time. We ask for parent support to ensure that students go to bed early or on time and eat a nourishing breakfast and lunch! Taking tests can be hard work – requiring lots of energy... In addition, we would ask you not schedule doctor/dentist appointments during Terra Nova testing week. Homework assignments will be minimal during test week. Most importantly, don't forget to ask your child(ren) about the testing each day. Thank you!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY
On Monday, to honor the Blessed Mother’s Birthday on September 8, First Graders processed to our beautiful statue in the courtyard and presented her with cards, prayed to her and sang Happy Birthday Mary!
8TH GRADE ATTENDS PREVIEW DAY AT BISHOP GORMAN HIGH SCHOOL
Our 8th grade students were invited to Preview visited Bishop Gorman High School on Tuesday to spend a day learning what's it is like to be a Gael! Preview Day provided prospective students with an immersive experience where they learned about high school at Bishop Gorman, both in and out of the classroom. The day ran from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm and included mini-courses, lunch with student ambassadors, and spirited activities.
6TH GRADE FIRST CAMPUS MINISTRY/COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Campus ministry is a unique program for Youth Ministry at St. Viator School that students participate in once a month. The program was written with Viatorian identity which allow our students to learn about developing our call to serve and how to live out our Catholic social teaching following the vision of the founder of the Viatorians, Fr. Louis Querbes.
Throughout the year, variety of fun activities that challenge our youth to live out as Fr. Querbes envisioned to reach out "to those of little importance" in our world. Students will put these lessons into action when they go out into their community and serve them. This year, students will visit the elderly, work at a shelter, and create hygiene kits (to name a few projects.)
6th grade kicked off our year and it was their first time experiencing Campus Ministry on Tuesday. They really made an impact in the little amount of retreat time they had together.
With the help of so many Viatorian leaders they learned more about the mission to serve their local community and treating everyone with dignity and respect.
6th grade enjoyed listening to inspiring speakers, and then also put the beautiful things that were heard into action by making hygiene bags for underprivileged youth at Project 150. After making those bags the students hand delivered them and took a tour of Project 150, where a lot of our students will be volunteering later in the year.
It was a special and heartfelt moment to watch our 6th grade students make the connection of what it feels like to make a difference in our community. I’m so proud of our students.
A big THANK YOU to our parent and community volunteers and all of you that donated! We can’t do it without you! Also thank you to the support of our school and the Viatorian community. This is an opportunity for our students to make a difference, and they truly are!
We will be back next week with our 7th graders!

SVS WEARS RED, WHITE AND BLUE FOR PATRIOT DAY

Our children learn through the memorials and tributes that we share as educators, parents, clergy, and as a country! SVS students, faculty, and staff wore red, white, and blue in support of Patriot Day. God Bless America, always. 🇺🇸

WCEA PARENTS SURVEY
During the 25-26 school year, our school will undergo the WCEA Standards of Excellence Accreditation Process. To prepare for this, the school initiates a school-wide self-study process of all aspects of school programs and operations for current success and long-term viability. The self study process allows the school to learn about areas for ongoing school improvement and it provides outside validation of the school's internal perceptions, and guarantees to parents and to other institutions that the school is what it says it is!
Parents we need your help! As a first step in the self-study process, please take this survey! To ensure that our mission statement, philosophy, and School-wide Learning Expectations are fully integrated into the lived reality of the school, we invite all shareholders to be involved in the annual review and revision of these documents. Your input is integral to our success, please take a few moments to provide your feedback. We are asking each family to complete this survey by Friday, September 20th, and we look forward to sharing the results with all of you. Thank you for your support!
