Next Tuesday, January 21st, counselors from Union Mine High School will be on campus to meet with our 8th grade students in the morning. They will be talking to them about high school life, the AVID program, handing out their registration packets and answering questions. Please be sure that your student is at school that day and on time as they will begin at the start of the day. This is a wonderful, and important, opportunity for students to get information about transitioning into high school!

Our Leadership class will be hosting a Hot Cocoa Fundraiser on Thursday, January 23rd. They will be selling cups of hot cocoa and marshmallows before school. As this will be a way to raise money for school events for students, Leadership is asking for donations to help offset the costs. They are asking for the following:

-Disposable coffee cups

-Lids to go with 8oz and 12oz disposable cups

-Hot Cocoa powder

-Marshmallows

Items can be brought to the front office at Herbert Green now through Wednesday the 22nd. Thank you for your help!

The Festival of Oral Interpretation is a gathering of students from around the county who get the opportunity to demonstrate their interpretive abilities and read or recite a selection of poetry or prose. There will be an informational meeting for students who are interested in participating on Wednesday, January 29th during 5th/6th lunch break. More information will be out as the day gets closer.
