Goal Setting - Classroom Guidance
Additionally, I am hoping to meet with some students who have fluctuated on their assessment performance (ranging in scores from proficient to novice, etc.) to discuss how goal setting can benefit them specifically.
Guidance will take place the week of November 14-18, 2016. Check your email for more information and sign ups.

Teaching the expectations can be fun. Youtube has a lot of great videos created by other schools on expectations. You can easily find some that match your classroom. You can have student act out appropriate and not appropriate behaviors (they LOVE to show the non-appropriate stuff!) You can even turn it into a game. A simple google search of "fun ways to teach expectations" brings up a lot of websites:

Attendance and Maryville
Currently, the leadership team is working on ways to promote positive student attendance and help all students recognize the value of being at school all day, every day. If you have any suggestions, please let us know.
You can do your part in the classroom by adding attendance to the expectations and reteaching the importance of good school attendance on a regular basis. Some other suggestions include:
- A class contest for perfect attendance. Write every students name on the board and erase names once the child misses or checks in late or leaves early. The last student on the board receives a prize or an insane amount of Maryville money.
- Create a sign that says Perfect Attendance. Every day your class has perfect attendance, color in a letter. Once all the letters are colored in, your class receives a prize.
- Create a friendly competition with a neighboring class. Pick a time frame and see who can have the best attendance during that time frame.
- Ask Sandy for your weekly attendance. Share it with the class and then set a goal for the following week. Discuss with your class how to reach that goal.
I will help in any way I can, including with prizes. Let me know!
