A Message From our Principal, Dr. Justin Bogart
Pirate Families,
A former colleague of mine would often state, “we are either getting better or getting worse, there is no staying the same.” As part of our pursuit of continuous improvement at PHS, we will be increasingly using the functions of our student management system, Skyward, to support communication with parents. In the next few weeks you can expect that our system will generate letters regarding student attendance, tardies, cell phone violations, and overdrawn lunch accounts. These letters will populate in the students Portfolio/Gradebook section of the Family Access account in Skyward. If you need assistance setting up your parent access to Skyward, you can contact our Student Services office to request support.
The automation of these letters is to improve our communication with the home, but these messages are not substitutes for our expectation that administrators and teachers will contact the home when a concern or need arises about a student. Automated letters are only one part of our effort to give a full view of a student’s experience at PHS.
In Pirate Pride,
Dr. Bogart
