Semester 2 Started YESTERDAY: REMINDERS

Just a few reminders for families as semester 1 comes to an end:



  • Semester 2 starts on Tuesday, January 28th
  • Friday, January 31st is a division wide staff collaboration day and all BRSD schools are closed
  • You can access all semester 1 marks and comments on PowerSchool . Marks will be finalized by February 3rd (please call the school at 780-372-3800 if you need help accessing your PowerSchool account).
  • Semester 2 timetables can be found on PowerSchool. Please check your timetables.
  • Paper copies of timetables can be picked up at the office if needed.
  • All semester 1 textbooks and novels must be returned as soon as possible as they are needed for semester 2 classes. Please have a conversation with your student and ask them to return any outstanding books. Books can be returned to the library or the office at any time. Thank you for your help with this.

PJ Spirit day is coming up Thursday January 30

Join in the fun with our upcoming spirit day. Stay comfy cozy and wear your jammies to school on Thursday January 30.

PD Day Friday Jan 31

Don't forget, there's NO SCHOOL on Friday Jan 31.

Mandatory International Tourism Meeting for Parents and Students February 3

There is a mandatory meeting for all parents/students participating in the International Tourism Trip this year, on Monday Feb 3 at 6pm. Please mark your calendars and be sure to attend.

Fun Lunch - Thursday February 6 - Lasagna

Our next fun lunch will be held on Thursday February 6 and will be lasagna (with or without cheese). Orders can be made HERE or through our school website.

Mark your calendars: No School Thursday Feb 13, Friday Feb 14, and Monday Feb 17

Please note that there is a Teacher's Convention on Feb 13-14 and there will be NO SCHOOL.

It is also Family Day on Monday Feb 17 and schools are closed. Enjoy your extra long weekend.

Senior High Overnight Ski Trip - Marmot Alberta

Any senior high students who are interested in the grade 10- 12 overnight ski trip to Marmot Basin (Jasper) on March 2 - 4, please talk to Mrs. Pearson as soon as possible.


The $100 deposit deadline is Jan 30th.

Bus Students: Process for when busses are cancelled

When busses are cancelled, all riders are automatically marked as "NO BUSSES" for attendance purposes for the day. Parents do NOT have to call in to notify us that students will not be in attendance.


IF your student comes to school (is driven in) PLEASE have them check in with the office upon arrival so we know that they are PRESENT.

CLASSROOM FEATURES

Bio 20 Human Systems Unit

Students in Mrs. Pearson's BIO 20 class wrapped up their course by dissecting preborn pigs. The porcine or pig body system is very comparable to the human body system so this is a very beneficial unit/experience.

Mrs. Fortier's Grade 5 Class wins Oil Kings tickets through the "Reading, Give it a Shot" program

Mrs. Fortier's grade 5 class has been working hard with their reading this year, so much so that they WON tickets through the Edmonton Oilers "Reading, Give it a Shot" program. The class will be going to the Jan 31st Oil Kings vs Hitmen game in Edmonton. Congratulations Grade 5!!!
