Senior Newsletter
Please use the following link for information regarding end of the year senior activities.
Senior Tag
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to remind everyone that Senior Tag and Senior Pranks are not school-sponsored events and are not permitted on school grounds at any time—before, during, or after school. This does include ALL athletic facilities.
While we understand the excitement of senior traditions, any participation in these activities on school property will result in consequences. Our priority is to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment for all students and staff.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a positive and memorable end to the school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Senior Awards
In the recent district newsletter, Senior Awards Night was incorrectly listed as taking place on Thursday, May 22. The correct date for the ceremony is Monday, May 19.
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and look forward to celebrating our seniors on the correct date.

MVHS Senior Honored with ACE Award
Mount Vernon High School senior Micah Evans was recently recognized as the MVHS recipient of the Exchange Club ACE (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Award. This honor celebrates students who have overcome personal challenges to achieve academic and personal success.
"Micah is a huge success story and I am so proud of him. Watching him win that award gave me pure joy! In my 10 years of teaching, watching him win that award was the best day by far," said Nate Hunt, MVHS Intervention Specialist.
Micah was among six students from across Knox County selected by their respective schools to receive the award, presented by the Exchange Club of Mount Vernon.

Food Services Seeks Feedback
The Mount Vernon Food Services team is dedicated to providing nutritious, enjoyable meals that support student health and academic success. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve, we are inviting parents, guardians, and students to share their thoughts through a short online survey. Proper nutrition plays a vital role in student performance. Well-balanced meals help students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn throughout the day. That’s why it’s important for us to hear directly from families about what’s working well—and where we can do better.
We encourage both parents and students to complete the survey. For younger students, parents are welcome to fill it out on their behalf. Whether your child buys lunch every day or only occasionally, your feedback helps us make informed decisions about menu choices, meal quality, and overall service.
Please take a few moments to complete the Food Services Survey by Thursday, April 18. Your input is greatly appreciated and will directly impact the future of our school meal program.
