The Great Kindness Challenge at Clifford
Join us as we promote and highlight the Great Kindness Challenge January 27 - 31. Our school will be performing acts of kindness campus wide. We are so excited. On Monday at Flag Salute we will be announcing the Kindness Challenges our staff and students will be doing throughout the week! Find the Kindness Challenge Checklist family addition below!
RCSD Culinary Competition
Three lucky 1st through 5th grade students from each RCSD school will be chosen as finalists to compete in the Favorite School Lunch Meal contest at Henry Form Elementary School on February 26, 2020. All Finalists will receive a framed plaque, chef coat, apron and hat. The winner of this event will be entered into a Future Chefs National Competition.
Details and Entry Form. Submit no later than January 31st.
From the School Nurse
Please keep your child home if he/she has had diarrhea and/or vomiting in the last 24 hours or a fever of 100 or higher in the last 24 hours.
Wash hands at home and school to prevent illness. Good hand washing should consist of scrubbing/friction for 20 seconds and drying hands thoroughly after washing.
Notify the office if your child must miss school for illness.

Meal Account EZSchoolPay!
Several families currently have overdue school meal balances. Visit ezschoolpay.com to set up an account, check your family's balance, make a payment, and enable low balance email reminders. To register for ezschoolpay, you will need your child's ID number. You can ask your child for their number (this is the number they punch in at the cafeteria) or call the school office at (650) 482-2402. There is no fee to fund your meal account via credit card.
For check payments, please drop your check into the black lunch payment box in the school office.

Permission slips will be distributed to students. Advance tickets may be purchased the week before the dance outside of the MUB. You must have a signed permission slip to buy a ticket.

Parents will be notified by email by Friday 1/24.
Students are nominated by their teachers!
Students who win will have their picture posted in the office for 1 month, have free choice of 1 prize from the Dolphin Store and get publicly recognized at school during flag salute!
Dolphin Cares- Students earning this award show concern and/or sympathy for others, are sensitive to the needs of others, offers support & giving their time, talents, and resources to help others, talking positively about others, considering the needs of others, not just their own. They show understanding of others by treating them with compassion, generosity, and a forgiving spirit. These students exemplify the Core Value of Care!
Dolphin Respect—Students earning this award have demonstrated respect for self, others, learning environment and learning. They have good behavior, good attitude, and participate in class on a daily basis. Students earning this award are the most improved student. These students exemplify the Core Values of RESPECT
Dolphin Empathy - Students earning this award have demonstrated care and concern towards other Dolphins. They consistently reach out to others and help them feel cared for. These students exemplify the Core Value of EMPATHY!
Dolphin Eagerness—Students earning this award exhibit leadership among their peers, earn high grades in all content areas, and are considered a positive role model for their peers. These students are also asking for extra credit and go above and beyond when working on projects and/or special assignments. These students are never tardy between classes and are always ready to learn from bell to bell. These students exemplify the Core Value of being EAGER!
Dolphin Dreamer—Students earning this award are helpful to others, consistent with their work ethic, and are students who try hard in classes. These students set goals and are always looking to the future. These Dolphin Dreamers are not only creative, but they are resourceful and inspire others to think outside the box. The Dolphin Dreamer is gentle by nature and loyal. These students live above their background and don’t let hard times change their course. Even in adversity, they believe they will still be successful! These students exemplify the Core Value of DREAMER!
