PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS
Much of the success of the Johnson Jaguar Band can be traced back to our students’ high-quality individual musicianship. That individual musicianship is developed not only during daily band class and at-home practice but through our incredible Private Lesson Program.
The band staff has worked diligently to assemble the finest local professionals on each and every instrument to deliver 1-on-1 lessons to our students who enroll in the program! Lessons occur on campus before, during, and after school. Although not required, lessons are highly encouraged. Private lessons are not for remediation but rather enrichment!
Students are encouraged to reach out directly to an instructor to sign up and schedule lessons.

A MESSAGE FROM THE BAND DIRECTOR
Week of August 27th
Out with one week and in with another! We're excited to wrap up yet another fantastic week in the world of the Moe & Gene Johnson Jaguar Band. Let's quickly recap the highlights before we set our sights on the future.
GroupFund Fundraiser Success:
We're thrilled to share that our recent GroupFund fundraiser was a resounding success! Thanks to the unwavering support and effort of our amazing Jaguar Band Family and community, we not only reached but surpassed our fundraising goal. A heartfelt thank you for everything you do!
Victory on the Field:
Our Jaguar Football Team kicked off the season with a bang, securing their first victory. The electrifying energy and excitement from the stands provided by our Jag Band played a pivotal role in their success. We're also proud to report that the debut performance of "Long Live The King(s)" was a hit with the Clark HS audience. The thrill of performing under the lights, the crowd's energy, and the camaraderie of being with friends all contributed to an unforgettable experience. This is just a taste of the excitement the season holds!
Exciting Times Ahead:
Looking ahead, we have an exciting week lined up. We're delighted to welcome back Ms. Lauren Drislane from the Breakdown Camp. She'll be observing our rehearsal and providing valuable choreography, staging, and body movement insights to enhance the production value. Her expertise will surely take our performances to new heights!
Achievement Focus:
This week calls for a heightened level of accomplishment, particularly with our pass-offs. We're committed to having each member shine on the field, and that means successfully passing off individual performance aspects, whether it's mastering music or equipment work. Our strong start sets the stage, and now we aim to maintain momentum and reach even greater levels of excellence.
Upcoming Rehearsals and Master Classes:
Our regular after-school rehearsal schedule remains in place this week, accompanied by our weekly Master Classes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Additionally, mark your calendars for our first Friday Night Home Football Game – an event not to be missed!
Balancing Act:
As we continue our musical journey, let's remember to excel both in our music performance and academic endeavors. Both play crucial roles in our success.
Closing Thought:
Let's keep up the remarkable work, staying true to the belief that every day is a "great day to be a Jaguar!" Your dedication and enthusiasm make our band truly special.
Here's to another exciting week ahead!
COLOR GUARD CORNER
IMPORTANT REMINDERS!
Please don't forget that your student MUST wear SOLID TAN OR BLACK undergarments with all of their uniforms or costumes. In some circumstances, prints on underwear or bras can be seen through the outfits!
- Guard members must purchase no-show black socks to wear with their black uniform sneakers.
- Guard members must wear thin black booties with their jazz shoes. CLICK HERE for an example. Wearing jazz shoes without socks makes them smell very bad!
HOW CAN I HELP?
Help stock the dressing rooms with all the show hair supplies for students to use on game days! Students should come with show ready hair for competitions days. As you are purchasing supplies for you home please purchase a few extra and send it to the Jaguar band hall!
- Hairspray
- Hair gel
- Hairnets dark and light colored
- Hair bands dark and light colored
- Bobby-pins dark and light colored

THINGS TO KNOW
Are there any uniform restrictions during marching season?
In order to give our band a cohesive appearance we do have guidelines for student’s appearances while they are on the field:
1. Band students will not wear makeup while in uniform, unless required for the performance.
2. Jewelry, hair ribbons & nail polish are not allowed while in uniform.
3. Hair must be its natural color
4. Hair must not touch the collar of the jacket and must be above the top of the ear or pulled behind it. No visible hair on forehead.
5. Students must be clean shaven or neatly trimmed while in uniform.
Color Guard: Please also see the Color Guard FAQ’s for more information.
What is the typical schedule of a game day?
On game day students will remain on campus after school. Please do not ask for any exceptions.
On game days the students will:
