Together in Learning and Faith
Leadership Message
Dear OLA School Community,
This Sunday, June 8, we celebrate Pentecost, a very special day in the Church’s calendar. Pentecost marks the moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles, filling them with courage and wisdom to share the message of Jesus with the world. It is often called the birthday of the Church, because it marks the beginning of the Church’s mission.
As a school community, we give thanks for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and pray that these gifts—wisdom, understanding, and courage—continue to guide our students and families in faith. May the Holy Spirit fill your hearts and homes with peace and joy this Pentecost!
Pentecost Prayer for Families
Come, Holy Spirit,
Fill the hearts of Your faithful,
And kindle in us the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be created,
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Loving God,
As we celebrate Pentecost,
We thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit.
May the Spirit guide our families with wisdom,
Fill our hearts with peace,
And strengthen us to live with faith, hope, and love.
Amen.

Jubilee Year-Pilgrims of Hope
A jubilee is a special celebration, renewal, and forgiveness period rooted in religious and secular traditions. In the Christian tradition, a Jubilee Year, or Holy Year, is a time of special spiritual significance declared by the Pope, often held every 25 years (or during extraordinary jubilees). It offers Catholics a unique opportunity for renewal in faith, repentance, pilgrimage, and the reception of special graces or indulgences. The jubilee concept symbolizes mercy, justice, and restoration, inviting people to reflect on forgiveness, equality, and spiritual growth.
