Ozark Band and Choir Shine at District Solo & Ensemble Contest
Ozark band and choir students kicked off their spring break in style by competing in the District Solo & Ensemble contest at Aurora High School on March 8. Over 100 Ozark students competed in the festival. Of those who performed pieces (some performed multiple solos or performed in small ensembles), 52 received Exemplary ratings and qualified to perform at the State Festival in Columbia on April 25.
“We are so proud of all our students,” Assistant Choir Director Connor Gately said. “No matter the scores, these kids took it upon themselves to try something new and challenging, and they have become better musicians because of it.”
