Teacher Proud Tuesday
This week was #TeacherProud Tuesday! Ozark is excited to join other school districts across the region in celebrating teachers on the second Tuesday of each month. This week we recognized Shannon Franklin, art teacher at Ozark Middle School, and Jacob Gideon, weights and eighth grade PE teacher at Ozark Junior High.
- Ms. Franklin, who teaches fifth grade art, is constantly working to deepen students' understanding of art competencies, and she has an incredible way of nurturing a student’s ability to express themselves through their coursework. She inspires her students through her positivity and creates an environment well suited for fun activities and creativity.
- Coach Gideon has ignited a new level of energy in the weight room. With a passion for fitness and a drive to empower students, he has transformed the training environment, inspiring young athletes to reach new heights.

BUILDING HIGHLIGHTS
Positive Partnerships
Ozark High School Sophomore Adilynn Rohrer has always been interested in teaching. And now after a semester in the Introduction to Education class and hanging out with students at North Elementary, she is more confident that the education field might be something she pursues after high school.
“I really wanted to take Intro to Education just to learn about the education field, and I wanted to have the opportunity to come to North elementary and learn how to deal with kids and see if I would enjoy teaching in my future,” she said.
Trista Hilton, OHS education and training teacher, said that is exactly the point of the class — for students to gain hands-on experience in education. Part of the Human Services Academy, Introduction to Education is the introductory course to the education and training program.
Sew Cool!
OHS FCCLA member Elliyana Adkins visited the Junior High FCCLA chapter to teach them about fashion sustainability. Afterwards Elliyana taught them how to repurpose old t-shirts into bags. Sew cool!
OHS Thespian Club
OHS Thespian Club went to the Missouri State Conference Jan. 4-6 where students competed, went to workshops, saw performances, and talked to colleges in the area about theater. Trinity Kromidas was received a superior rating on her competition monologue performance!
