A Note From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This year, we have added a math tutor to our staff! Mrs. Kelly Reinhard will split her time between Munson and Park, working with students from all grade levels. She says:
"My name is Kelly Reinhard. I live in Chardon with my husband, 3 kids, and dog. I have been a teacher for a long time and have worked with kids of all ages. My true passion in teaching is Math. My Ohio teaching license is for Math and Science. My Master's Degree has a focus in Math for Grades K-6. I also teach for Kent State University, working with students who want to be math teachers. I am very excited to be tutoring at Munson and appreciate the opportunity to work with such amazing students and teachers!"
We are lucky to have her!
Sincerely,
Mathew Prezioso
Principal, Munson Elementary

Last Call for SOCK-tober Donations!
As you may remember, we have been focusing on promoting KINDNESS at Munson this year, because offering kindness is something that EVERYONE can do! Our school counselor, Mrs. Barnett, has given us a very exciting Kindness Challenge for October - it's SOCK-tober! All month long, Munson will be collecting new pairs of kids socks to donate to Geauga County Job & Family Services.
Our schoolwide goal is to collect 300 pairs of new socks! There are collection boxes here at school, and the grade level that donates the MOST pairs of socks will win a popcorn party! Let's show just how KIND Munson can be by meeting the SOCK-tober Challenge!
Help Munson Honor and Thank Our Veterans!
We are planning our Veterans Day (Week!) activities for the week of November 11-15. There will be many opportunities for students and families to participate in honoring our country's veterans.
Stockings for Soldiers
Please return the participation form you received by Monday, October 28 if you and your child are planning to fill and return a stocking. They will be sent home in early November.
Veterans Visit
If you are a veteran, or have a veteran family member who is willing to come to school on Monday, November 11 to share some of their military experiences with our students, please return the form with their information by Monday, October 28.
Veterans Wall of Honor
All students will have an opportunity to honor a special veteran in their lives by filling out a little information about them with you at home, and sharing a picture they draw or a copy of a photograph of that person. These will be displayed in our hallway to honor our family heroes during the week.
Penny Wars
This is one of our most popular Veterans Day activities! We donate the funds generated by Penny Wars to the Geauga County Veterans Food Pantry and other local veterans groups. More information will be coming, but start saving your pennies now!
Activity Sheets
Veteran themed activity sheets will be coming home for your child to do with you at home and return to school for a small prize.
Field of Flags
We are SO CLOSE to meeting our fundraising goal for DAV (Disabled American Veterans)!!! Can you help us meet our goal of $500 by Monday, October 28? Every donation goes to helping veterans and their families. Please donate if you're able, and feel free to share our donation link with family and friends! The parade will begin at 2:30pm; if weather permits, we will go outside and parade in front of the school. Students should NOT wear their costumes to school in the morning, but bring them in a bag. Please make sure your child can put their costume on and take it off independently. There will not be time to apply any costume makeup, and no full face masks or weapons are permitted.
