STEM Exploration In Classroom 2-5
After reading If You Give A Pig A Party by Laura Numeroff, the students in Classroom 2-5 extended the story by utilizing STEM. The students solved how to bounce a pig off a mini trampoline onto a mud puddle. One student figured out if they bounced the pig closer, the pig would not go in and determined that they should hold the pig higher up.
Lines In Classroom 2-4
Students in Classroom 2-4 read When Pencil Met Eraser by Karen Kilpatrick. After, some of the students created mazes on their own in the math center using tangrams. When the students finished creating their mazes, they took a picture of their creation with the iPad.

Be On the Look Out for both BABY BOTTLE AND PACIFIER USE!
These items have been seen being used by some of our students during drop off.
Baby Bottles and Pacifier use for 3 and 4 yr olds is a big “ NO NO!”
WHY YOU ASK?
Multiple Pediatric and Dental websites support stopping BABY BOTTLE / PACIFIER BY 12-18 MONTHS
Preschool children should be using a “sippy cup” with a straw or a regular cup.
PROLONGED BOTTLE AND PACIFIER USE CAN LEAD TO:
- MOUTH AND TEETH DEFORMITIES
- SPEECH ABNORMALITIES
- TOOTH DECAY
Parents do you want to have to pay for extensive orthodontic work to straighten you child’s teeth because of prolonged baby bottle / pacifier use?
Parents do you want to have your child undergo root canals and extensive dental work for tooth decay because of extended baby bottle / pacifier use?
IF YOU ANSWERED “ NO “ TO ANY ONE OF THESE QUESTIONS THEN IT IS TIME TO HELP YOUR LITTLE ONE KICK THE BABY BOTTLE OR PACIFIER HABIT RIGHT NOW!!
YOU AND YOUR CHILD WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!

Building Language in Everyday Life
Your child gathers information about the world from their environment. Their environment can be your home, your car, the park, the grocery store or any place you and your child happen to be. Here are a few tips to stimulate language during your daily routines:
- get down on your child's level, and be physically close (face to face if possible)
- follow your child's lead; letting your child pick an activity reveals their genuine interests and builds their confidence
- let your child participate in day-to-day activities such as setting the table, mixing ingredients for meals
- talk about what YOU are doing and what YOU see as you play with your child
You can help your child learn language anytime, anywhere!
