Upcoming Important Dates
Acadience Benchmark Testing
The entire staff at East Fallowfield Elementary School are committed to helping your child become successful readers and mathematicians. During the month of September, our teachers will complete Acadience Universal Screening assessments in reading and mathematics with students. The purpose of these assessments is to obtain baseline data on the strengths and weaknesses of individual students in reading and math and to guide the teacher's classroom instruction.
Acadience Reading tests skills that are necessary for learning to read while Acadience Math assesses skills that are necessary for learning mathematics. Each assessment focuses on a different reading skill(s) or mathematics skill (s) and which assessment is given depends on the grade of your student.
Acadience Reading and Math Universal screeners will be administered three times a year- in the beginning of the year, in the middle of the year, and at the end of the year. The screeners are used only as an indicator of reading or math proficiency. Much like using a thermometer to take a child’s temperature as an indicator of overall health, each assessment is an indicator of how a child is doing in learning in a particular reading or mathematics skill. The scores tell us whether a child is likely to be “on track” for learning or whether a child may need additional help in learning important skills or whether a child may need enrichment. You will be provided with parent/guardian reports after each test administration. Your child’s teacher will use this information to better help your child.
Acadience Reading and Math will also be used to make decisions about how well our school’s overall reading and mathematics programs are working for all children. Acadience Universal Screeners will not be used to grade your child. We are working hard at school to make sure that every child is on target for success, and we thank you for your efforts at home. Together, we will help your child become a successful reader.
PBIS Corner
During our first few weeks of school, all students participate in lessons to learn the S.O.A.R. expectations of East Fallowfield in all areas of the school including classroom, bathroom, playground, hallway, cafeteria and bus. Students have already begun earning Class Dojo points for meeting these expectations. Students can also earn Eagle Eye tickets on the bus and in the pick-up area for SOARing. Below are some pictures from Mrs. Rodriguez's first grade class creating their classroom contract and Mrs. Kline's third grade class during their hallway lesson.

Important Reminders for Back-to-School
Here are just a few reminders for parents and guardians as we enter a new school year.
Pick Up/Drop Off
- Our Drop Off and Pick Up area is at the back of the building.
- If you are dropping your child off, please be sure they are ready for school prior to drop off. Students should be ready to exit the vehicle quickly to avoid traffic back-ups. Parents should remain in their vehicle and be ready to exit as soon as your child exits the vehicle. This is not the time to speak with staff or enter the building. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Drop Off Time: 9:15 AM-9:30 AM - If you are dropping your child off after 9:30 AM they are considered late and must be signed in at the main office by an adult.
- Pick Up Time: 3:45 PM
- If you are picking your child up, we need a note or an email on file. Please send emails to efattendance@casdschools.org. If we do not have a note, your child will ride their normal transportation home.
Transportation
- We will begin dismissing students at 3:45 pm.
- Please allow 15-20 minutes after the drop off time given to you by transportation for the first few days of school as we often hold busses longer than usual to ensure our students are safely on the correct busses.
- Should you have any transportation concerns, please contact the transportation department directly via email at schoolbus@casdschools.org.
Chromebooks
- Please be sure to send your child back to school with their district-issued Chromebook and charger.
- Kindergarten students will not be issued Chromebooks. Instead they will receive iPads in October when they arrive.
- Should you have any technology concerns please contact our Technology Department at ithelpdesk@casdschools.org.
Contact Information
- It is imperative to have the most updated contact information for our families. Please ensure that we have your most updated phone numbers, home addresses and email addresses.
- Please be sure to read the Monday Morning Messages each week for important information.
- Your child will be coming home with a red communication folder that should travel to and from school each day. Please check this folder for important information from the school. There are forms in the folder that we need returned back to school. Although some of you have updated your information through PowerSchools, we ask you to please complete the paper copy in the event of an emergency. Thank you for your help in completing and returning the necessary forms.
Breakfast/Lunch
- All students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. Parents do not have to fill out any forms as students automatically qualify.
- Students can still bring lunch if they choose to.
Water Bottles
- We have various water bottle filling stations. To reduce waste we are requesting that everyone bring a reusable water bottle to school.
We are looking forward to an incredible year full of learning, growth and fun!

In addition, please be reminded that East Fallowfield Elementary School has bottle filling stations. Please send your student to school with a water bottle each day. Remember to label your student’s water bottle with their first and last names.
