WMS Friday Forecast
December 16, 2022
Wredling Families:
How can it be three days away from winter break? This year has flown by with so many exciting events and so many challenges. One thing you can say about middle school is that it is never dull. This is the time in their lives when our students begin to face successes and challenges that they now own and manage. It is a time for growth, and for pushing away and pulling back. And wow- is it fun to watch!
We have three days together. Monday and Tuesday will be regular learning days. On Wednesday we are going to have two assemblies- one for 6th graders and one for 7th and 8th graders. At the assembly, we will do some recognition, and then have some fun together with a little singing and a couple of fun games. Please note that if you are planning to pick up your child early on Wednesday, December 21st, it may take a significant amount of time for your child to arrive in the office - especially if they are attending the assembly.
PLEASE NOTE: The bell schedule for Wednesday, December 21st will be shared out separately in a parent link on Tuesday evening.
Enjoy your weekend-
Tim
WMS Attendance Reminder

Call in your child's absence daily to 331-228-3700
Speak slowly, clearly and include the following:
First and Last Name (spell name for clarity - we have a lot of students with similar names)

Specific reason for your student's absence - if they are sick, please state their symptoms

Something Worth Noting...
One of our basketball coaches, Mark Foulkes, had seen our high school players show appreciation to the teachers they most admired and connected with. This week at WMS, Mr. Foulkes carried that tradition to Wredling. At the start of a game, students from our basketball teams took time to explain why they appreciated their teacher.
Thanks to Coach Foulkes and our boys for starting a great tradition!
i-Ready Winter Diagnostic Reports
Attention All Parents/Guardians:
The i-Ready Winter Diagnostic Reports for both Math and Reading are being sent home with students on Wednesday, December 21st so watch for those! You will find the following information included with the two diagnostic reports:
A letter from Mr. Dave Chiszar, Director of Assessment and Accountability, that explains the i-Ready diagnostic report and what is being included in the documents mailed home.

The Peer Leadership Program for Incoming St. Charles East Freshmen
Dear Parents of 8th Graders Attending East,
Peer Leadership is an extracurricular program that matches selected incoming freshmen with juniors and seniors who make the transition into high school fun and easy and mentor them throughout the year. Because this program meets during the school day, it has to be put into a student’s schedule when registering for next year’s classes. Although we would like to be able to offer this to all interested incoming freshmen, our numbers are limited by available classroom space and our budget. Therefore, in order to start the selection process, interested students should apply using the application found below in this Friday Forecast.
If your child is interested in the program, please fill out the application and e-mail it to Jim Reed, the Peer Leadership Coordinator (James.Reed@d303.org). Completed applications must be received no later than Tuesday, January 17th, 2023. For more information about Peer Leadership, please attend Future Saints Night in January.
We hope to hear from you!
