Patriotic Show this year will be October 18th! This is a required performance of all academically eligible choir students during the halftime performance at the football game. There will be a bus provided to the stadium and all choir students will sit with the choir in the stands until the halftime performance is over. Students may stay after school and ride the bus, or are welcome to drive themselves to the stadium or be dropped off. All eligible and participating choir students will get into the stadium for free and will not need to purchase a ticket. Following the halftime performance, students may stay for the game, or there will be a bus provided back to the school after halftime. There will not be a bus provided at the end of the game.

Students will wear their choir polo, BLUE jeans with NO HOLES, and closed toe shoes.

The same day, we will leave school on a field trip to the stadium where all eligible participating students will have a rehearsal in preparation for that night's performance. Students are encouraged to dress comfortably but in dress code. It does get hot on the field at this rehearsal. We will have water, and students will be receiving a TMHS water jug if they would like one. Lunch is provided this day by TMHS and THS.

8:06am Students dismissed from class (students will go to first period and at the 1t period dismissal bell will go to the cafeteria)

9:00am Get organized on field

9:15am Begin rehearsal

11:00am Rehearsal concludes, get organized for pizza lunch

11:15am Pizza punch provided

12:00pm Clean up, load buses, and return to campus

This is a huge community event for the TMHS vs. THS football game and is a blast for our students. The stadium is packed and the halftime performance includes a firework spectacular, and even a skydiver! This is typically a sold out event because it is as much a football game as it is a fine arts performance!

Call time for students and chaperones will be 6:00pm at the stadium. We will meet by the band tunnel underneath the scoreboard. We will be on the visitors side of the stadium this year.

Ineligible students are not allowed to attend the rehearsal or the Patriotic Show. They will complete the alternate assignment as noted in our Choir Handbook and Grading Guidelines.

Our Fall Solo and Ensemble contest is Friday, October 25th. The entry cost will be covered by TMHS Choir unless the student does not show up to the contest for any reason. In the case of a student not participating after signing up, the solo cost is $11 and the ensemble cost per member is $8.

Students singing a solo will need to pay for their accompanist, of which costs will be $25 for a class 2 or 3 solo, and $30 for a class 1 solo.

Students may also use a recorded accompaniment if they choose.

We will also be needing students to help run this contest, as it is also our TISD Middle School Solo and Ensemble! We will be asking classes for volunteers in the next week.

The Region Audition is Saturday, October 26th at TMHS. This is a major event that we host and we will be needing a lot of student and parent help to ensure everything runs smoothly. We will be asking students this week in class for help to run this contest.

If you advanced to the Region round of the All-State process, please make sure you are coming in for pass-offs once a week! There are no sectionals for this round, so you need to make sure you are working on your music on your own time. Pass-offs are a great way to check on your progress and to get pointers from the directors on how to improve before the audition!

This is the sign-up for our Veterans Day Flag Fundraiser. We welcome your help in distributing flags to our subscribers that support all we do in choir! Your student will earn service points that they can use on choir trips, banquets, & many any other choir expenses. These points apply to the 2024-2025 school year so you can bank them for future expenses.

The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, October 29, 2024. We will distribute flags on Saturday, November 2nd. We will be at Tomball Memorial High School (bus parking lot) from 9 -10 AM for you to pick up your flags. Flags need to be picked up and returned to the high school on Sunday, November 17th, from 3 - 4 PM.

PLEASE BE PROMPT WITH BOTH PICK-UP AND RETURN OF FLAGS!

These times are when someone will be at the school to give & receive the flags, NOT when you should start collecting the flags for return. You can pick up the day before, but you will need to store the flags in a secure location until the return time.

*****Please be sure you can fulfill both the distribution and pick-up of flags before you commit, or partner with a friend to each do one day or both together!****

Pop Show auditions are coming up at the end of this month. Auditions will be after school on October 29th and 30th. Our theme this year is Grammys and students should primarily look at nominees from the following big categories: Artist of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year. Songs selections should be from the year in which they were nominated (ex. Billie Eilish's new album is not applicable). It is our strong suggestion to look for WINNERS and to look for diverse music, especially before 2015. Think about your audience and what would be interesting to sit and listen to!

Directors cannot give song suggestions.

All songs must be cut to 2 minutes and 30 seconds at the auditions.

Seniors ONLY may audition with a slow song.

THE CHOIR FAIR SHARE FEE FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR IS $53.75. Payments will be paid through schoolcashonline. This amount will help to cover such items as uniform rental, altering, launder/dry-cleaning, postage for mail-outs, Copies, Folders, Choir T-Shirt, Choir Polo, Choir water thermos, and other necessary items.

Emails will be sent out Monday if you still have not paid your Choir Class Fee.

PLEASE GET THOSE IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Please make sure that you are making payments for the Spring Trip if you are traveling with us! The next payment is due October 15th!

Parent chaperones can make their payments using the same link as student payments, but please indicate who the payment is for under "recipient name". For student payments, please put your student's name under "recipient name"

Please be aware that students must be academically and attendance eligible to travel on the spring trip.

All schoolcashonline payments will have an additional service charge that does not count toward the payment. For example, the initial deposit is $100, but has a $5 service charge. Also be aware that the initial deposit is non-refundable and monies paid for the rest of the trip cannot be refunded after the December 15th payment, unless you are able to sell your trip for full price.

Section of the Week is back! Each week we select a section in each class that has done an outstanding job throughout the week. At the end of the year, we will add up all of the sections and whoever has won section of the week the most in each class will receive a donut party!
