Mark's Monday Morning Memo

My Learning @ EdCampMSP
I had a great day of learning Saturday, October 1, 2016, at EdCampMSP. The event was hosted by Vidku, a software company in downtown Minneapolis that developed Flipgrid. Flipgrid is a simple yet powerful tool that allows educators to create grids with topics that allow students to respond with recorded videos to discuss, reflect, and share. I also learned more about Osmo (an educational game system that interacts with an iPad) and Finch Robots, both of which I am looking to add to my collection of tools to work with students. I'll be thinking about opportunities in which I can share these tools, and others, at future professional learning sessions.

Thank You for the Feedback
At our September 21, 2016, Professional Learning Session I shared twelve building systems and asked staff members for feedback as to whether no attention, some attention, or a great deal of attention is needed to make things better. We didn't have enough time to debrief all twelve areas so I created a Google Sheets document for you to make comments about any of the twelve areas. You can access that from the link below. I am collecting this information to see how I can influence positive change. I have given you access to edit and write comments and you'll need to use your Hopkins Apps email address. For example, mine is mark_french@apps.hopkinsschools.org. Your password is the same as your Outlook email password. Feel free to give me your input. Thank you!
