ST. MARY PHOENIX NEWS
January 24, 2020
Mrs. Marvin's Corner
The "Winter Formal" is on Friday, January 31st from 6-8:30PM. There will be food, fun, and festivities. We are looking forward to a great time. Be there and experience the night.
Catholic Schools Week ends with the Saturday 5PM Mass. All families are invited to attend. If your children are present for mass, they will receive a dress down pass.
This week we participated in a school intruder drill with students being asked to evacuate to the Parish Hall from the playground. Thank you Mr. Ron, Maintenance Coordinator , for portraying our intruder for this drill. Thank you to Fr. Rich for locking down the church when the students came over to the Parish Hall. We are proud of our staff and students because practicing drills can sometimes be a little scary.
We are excited that Mrs. Weyer will be helping out this year with Financial Assistance and Scholarships. The week of February 2nd-7th each family will receive the Financial Assistance, Scholarship Form from us. As we did last year, we are asking each family to fill out the form and return it completed to the office so we can begin processing Financial Assistance for you. EDChoice Scholarships and Diocesan Tuition Assistance opens on February 1st. So be looking for an email from Mrs. Weyer.
The January SSO Minutes are attached to the bottom of the newsletter.

St. Mary School Information
Since 1865, people have known St. Mary School students by their actions. This is because throughout our history, we have focused on building student’s character, based on the values instilled by the Catholic Faith, and a foundation of academic excellence.
St. Mary School provides a welcoming environment where families have the freedom to celebrate the faith. In a world of need, responsibility matters and strength is needed to serve our communities. It is our mission to develop students who have the ability to be mentors and leaders in the world. We recognize that each student is a unique gift from God and we individualize instruction to help them reach their full potential. We strive to promote an atmosphere that encourages a love of learning and provides children with a foundation of faith to balance and guide them for the rest of their lives.
