A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff,
I'd like to thank you all for another wonderful year as the Principal at Boerne HS. It is an honor to hold this position; I do not take it lightly. It has been a successful year all the way around at Boerne HS, and I continually tell people it is because of our students, parents, community, and faculty/staff... it truly is the best in Texas! A big shout out to our students, teachers, and staff, and everything they had to overcome this year. They have made me proud!
We have a short but busy week with Final Exams and Graduation. The Final Exam schedule is pictured below. Make sure your student is familiar with the schedule, as these exams are important and do count toward their semester average. Also, the end of our school day each day is different from normal. Graduation information has been going out the last few weeks but is still available below.
This will be the last "THE LEAD DOG" of the 2024-2025 school year, but I will periodically send out emails during the summer to update parents, students, and faculty/staff as needed, so please check your email over the summer. Congratulations, Boerne HS Class of 2025!!!

In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC), §28.0256, beginning with students enrolled in Grade 12 during the 2021-2022 school year, a student must complete and submit a free application for federal student aid (FAFSA) or a Texas application for state financial aid (TASFA) as a requirement for high school graduation.
Financial Aid Application Graduation Requirement State law requires all students enrolled in grade 12 to submit a financial aid application to graduate. Financial aid applications inform postsecondary institutions’ decisions about student eligibility for federal, state, and institutional funds. To complete the financial aid application requirement for graduation, high school seniors must take one of the following actions:
• Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Complete and submit the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
• Submit a signed opt-out form Opt-Out Form
A student may graduate without completing a financial aid application by submitting an opt-out form signed by the student’s parent or guardian, counselor, or the student if age 18 or older to authorize the student to decline to submit a financial aid application. Students who have emancipated from their parents and are under the age of 18 are authorized to sign the form. A parent can also decline to complete the financial aid application by signing the opt-out form. The opt-out form is available on the Texas Education Agency website in English and Spanish at https://tea.texas.gov/academics/college- career-and-military-prep/financial-aid-requirement.
Students can also request a copy of the opt-out form from their high school counselor. It’s important to note that students who opt out can still complete and submit a financial aid application at any time if they change their mind.
- If you need your official transcript, please come to the counseling office to get a transcript request form. All transcripts must be requested through the front office with the Registrar, Ms. Ellis. Counselors can provide you with a copy of your unofficial transcript.
- You’ll need to log into College Board to send your SAT scores to the colleges you are applying to.
- If you need a letter of recommendation, please pick up a Senior Resume Packet in the counseling office and allow at least two weeks for your letter to be written.

Summer Reading Information
Reading over the summer is one of the best ways for students to keep their minds sharp and prepare for success in the next school year. While only Honors, AP, and Dual Credit courses have required summer reading assignments, we encourage all students to make time for reading. Regular reading builds vocabulary, improves writing skills, and helps students stay connected to the world around them. Whether it's fiction, nonfiction, or something related to personal interests, summer reading is an investment in academic growth and lifelong learning. Parents can support this habit by setting aside time for reading and encouraging students to explore books they enjoy.

Boerne HS Campus Behavior Expectations...
Parents,
We ask that you review our "Campus Behavior Expectations" with your student. If your student wants to be successful at Boerne HS academically, socially, and emotionally, these three simple, easy expectations can be followed. As faculty and staff, we plan to model these behaviors to our students daily. We will be visiting with and reminding our students about these expectations consistently and ask that you do the same.
Be prompt and productive - be where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be there, and do what you are supposed to do.
Have respect for yourself and others - when you have respect, you make good, thoughtful choices considering everyone's feelings and beliefs.
See something, say something - be a voice for someone when they can't. If you see or know something is wrong, alert an adult you know ASAP. Don't overlook something you know is wrong.
