Week Of October 30th
Highlights From Last Week....
We are so proud of our friends! We are learning so much and having fun at the same time.
In Reader's Workshop, we continued to look at the picture AND the first letter of the word to see if it makes sense! We continued to practice our other strategies as well: looking at the picture while we read, trading out books, practicing turning and talking.
In Writer's Workshop, we continued to learn how to write across the pages and add more details to our stories. We added color, speech bubbles, labels and details to our setting. Our friend's have come a long way in such a short time.
In Math, we work on adding one more. We will write numerals 1-10 in order. We will also solve word problems by acting them out. We also worked on one less.
In Phonics, we practiced letter sounds and reviewed our sight words up until this point. Our letters of the week were "e" and"r". Our sight words were "have" and "my".
We finished our unit on Community.

A note from Mrs. Marcoux
This week will be a busy one, in addition to our Halloween celebration, we will be having a visit from a real bee keeper! Mrs. Varteresian will be coming to our kindergarten classes on Wednesday to show our students what a bee keeper is. The students are very excited about it.
I will be sending home another Scholastic book order form. If we could have the orders back by November 9th, that would be great.
Have a great week and have a great time trick-or-treating!
