Attendance - Less than 3 is the Way to Be!
Absence notes must be received within 3 days of returning to school from an absence or the absence(s) will remain unexcused. There are three ways to submit an absence note:
- click "Send a Note to School" when you receive the absence notification via ParentSquare
- email a written note to the attendance clerk sandra.martinez@gccisd.net
- turn in a handwritten note to the front office

More Details....How to Qualify for the $100 Club & Individual Prize Packages
Students in one family will each qualify for the $100 Club as long as the family's donations total $100 or more! In order to receive the individual fundraising prize packages, the family's donation total will be equally divided among the students in the family. For example, if a family has two students at Highlands Elementary, and their total family donation equals $100, then $100 will be evenly split between the two students. Each student will receive the $50 fundraising package. See picture of prize packages in graphic below. If you have any questions, please contact the front office.
Online Registration is Now Open for 2024-2025!
Online registration for 2024-2025 school year is now open Friday, April 12, 2024. All new & returning students to GCCISD must complete Online Registration. Click on "Enroll Now, Click Here!" to begin the registration process. New registration changes require parents to upload the following documents: proof of residence, parent photo ID, and child's birth certificate. All parents must go online and complete the registration process for students to be placed into a homeroom class for the upcoming school year. Once online registration is complete and documents have been uploaded, please fill out the yellow registration form and return it to school with your student(s). Each student needs their own yellow registration form turned in to the office. If your child's lunch account has a negative balance and falls at or over the amounts listed below, your child will receive a cheese sandwich and milk/juice. Please submit payment in person or online via My School Bucks. Also, if your child has a negative balance, he/she will not be able to purchase any snacks.
