The J-List
March 29, 2024
Hello JES Family,
What a beautiful week at JES! I spent quite a bit of time in classrooms this week and have loved seeing how engaged our students are in their learning.
We hope that you can join us for JES Night with Dragon Baseball on Tuesday, April 2nd. This is a fun event with our Honor Choir performing the National Anthem, a JES student throwing out the first pitch, another JES student serving as Bat Boy, and an opportunity for 9 students to take the field during the National Anthem! More details are included in the newsletter below.
If you don't already know, we will be having an eclipse viewing event for our students on April 8th. I wanted to share that we are not hosting visitors or volunteers during the eclipse. If you want to view the eclipse with your student, please feel free to check them out of school by 1:00 pm. Also, please remember that any student who does not return a signed permission form will have to stay inside and watch the eclipse via live stream. I've included more details in the newsletter below.
Thank you for your continued support of our teachers and campus. I am grateful for the opportunity you have given me to serve this amazing community. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any compliments or concerns to share.
GO DRAGONS!!!!!

JES Solar Eclipse Event
On April 8th we will be in the path to experience a once in a lifetime total solar eclipse event! JES will be celebrating this event with a Solar Eclipse Watch Party. Our generous PTO has secured enough eclipse glasses for all of our students and staff (manufactured by American Paper Optics, conforms to and meets the transmission requirements of ISO 12312-2).
The campus will be on a modified assembly schedule on April 8th. Also, since our students will be participating in the event, if you need to pick your student up from campus, please do so before 1:00 pm or after 2:00 pm.
In order for your student to participate in the outdoor viewing of the eclipse, you must sign this form and return it to school by April 8th. If the signed form is not returned, your student will not participate in the outdoor viewing of the eclipse.
4th Grade Parents - Picture Wall
We have a fun JES tradition where, for the month of May, our PTO will hang both a Kindergarten picture and 4th grade picture (side by side) of each of our 4th graders in the main hall. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please send in a 4x6 of your child in Kindergarten and 4th Grade (preferably their school pictures or a copy) in a zip lock bag or envelope with your child’s name and teacher's name by April 19th. We will try our best to get these pictures back to you, so please make sure to label so it makes that process easy. You can send this with your child to give to their teacher or drop off at the front office.
