Dear Walsh Families,

I hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving break, filled with quality time spent with loved ones. A heartfelt thank-you to all who signed up for and attended our Parent-Teacher Conferences. It was wonderful to see so many families partnering with our teachers to support their child’s growth and success.

This time of year is always special, as it provides an opportunity to welcome families into our school and celebrate the progress our students are making—both socially and academically. Additionally, thank you to everyone who supported our Scholastic Book Fair! Your generosity will help us enrich our library with exciting new books and resources for our students.

It’s hard to believe we’ve already turned the calendar to December! From all of us at Walsh School, we wish you and your family a safe, joyful, and healthy holiday season. Please take time to enjoy meaningful moments with your loved ones and create lasting memories.

We’re seeking parent volunteers to help make our Christmas parties a joyful and memorable experience for our students! Our amazing Walsh staff has planned fun, pre-prepared activities for the parties. We just need your help leading the stations and spreading holiday cheer!

10:30-11:00 - Bruecks, Siwinski, Tyrell, McMillian, Sloan, Young

1:00-1:30 - Dennis, Carter, Frankowski, Sloan, Young

1:45-2:15 - Fayman, Polson-Buck, Gauthier, Dudek, Koszela, Potrawski

We kindly ask volunteers to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled party time and stay for both parties in your block.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please complete the Google Form below by 12/9. Teachers will contact you by 12/11 to let you know if you’ve been selected to volunteer at the party.

As the weather gets colder, we want to ensure all of our students are prepared to participate in outdoor recess. Please ensure your child comes to school with warm winter gear, including a coat, hat, gloves, boots, and snow pants as needed. Our students will go outside for recess as long as the "feels-like" temperature is 20 degrees or above.

To help your child be successful and comfortable during this time, we encourage them to practice putting on and taking off their winter gear independently or with minimal assistance. Developing this skill not only supports their independence but also allows for smoother transitions during the school day.

We’re excited to announce a new opportunity for our Walsh community to come together and help those in need. This year, Walsh School will be hosting a children’s book drive in partnership with Bernie's Book Bank, an organization dedicated to providing books to children who need them most.

With your support, we hope to make this book drive a tradition for years to come! If you have new or gently used children's books at home that you’d like to donate, please consider contributing to this meaningful cause.

How to Donate:

• Your child can bring books to school and share the donation with their teacher.
• Donations can also be dropped off in the designated area at the main entrance.
