ELEMENTARY INFORMATION
Message from our Elementary Principals
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We had two field trips the past 2 weeks. One for 4th grade and one for 5th grade. Your students did a great job with representing themselves, their family, and our school. Thank you for encouraging your students to be examples of our RISE UP values: respect, integrity, service, excellence, unity, and patriotism.
With March upon us, teachers are working diligently with getting students prepared for state testing and finishing grade level content. They are putting in so much time and effort to ensure students are engaged in lessons, have the support they need to understand the material, and make sure the students are enjoying their time at school. Right now we have 93% attendance as an elementary school! That is fantastic. You as parents are doing a wonderful job helping to get students at school. The graphic below explains some important points for why attendance is important, particularly in the younger grades. It also describes some things that parents can do to help encourage good attendance habits. Please take a look and let us know if you have any questions!
Thank you,
Principal Anderson

SECONDARY INFORMATION
Note from our Secondary Principal - Amanda Kuhnz
Important Information!
Principal's Message,
Spring is almost here! We are excited to almost be complete with Term 3 and the beginning of Term 4 on March 10. As the weather warms up, let's not lose sight of who we are by continuing to follow the dress code, cell phone use during school hours, and picking up trash to keep our campus clean and beautiful. There is energy and positivity and we are proud of our Eagles!
The month of March is focused on Unity. One great thing about ALA is that we share common beliefs about patriotism and how we will be great citizens in a great democracy. Part of this is demonstrated by how we show our responsibility to be good citizens and support learning. This is a great time to remember these values as we look to finish the year strong!
March 18 is ACT Day! We are so excited to give our 11th graders the opportunity to test on our campus in preparation for post-secondary education.
- 11th grade students will report to the high school at 8am. Doors lock at 8:30am (more info to follow).
- 7th graders will be job shadowing (forms are due to Mrs. Peterson by March 11).
- 8th, 9th, 10th, and 12th graders will be learning from home (see online assignments from teachers).
* No students should be on the JH or HS campuses except 11th graders so that we can create an ideal testing environment.
Student Government elections for the 2025-26 school year are coming up in the middle of March. If your student is currently in grades 8-11 and interested in running for a Student Body Office or a Class Office or want to simply be a part of helping create a positive culture at ALA, please read this FORM.
Congratulations to our Boys Basketball team for going to the state tournament and placing 4th in the state! It was fun to see the student body support too! If you are able to join us for some upcoming events, we would love to see you at our upcoming Improv Shows, The Blast (choir), and multiple sporting events in baseball, softball, track, and boys soccer.
