Message from the Principal
Dear Kennedy High School Families and Community,
On behalf of the entire Kennedy High School faculty and staff, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended our Kennedy Expo last Wednesday evening.
The event showcased the vibrant spirit and exceptional academic programs that make Kennedy High School such a special place. From the warm welcome at the entrance to the captivating performances and engaging exhibits, the Expo provided an unforgettable experience for all who attended. Prospective parents gained valuable insights into the unique learning environment at Kennedy, while our current families enjoyed an evening of entertainment and community engagement.
The CTE courses offered hands-on experiences that were both informative and inspiring. The interactive exhibits in the gym were a highlight, with student-led soapbox speeches captivating the audience. And who knew that Wack a Packs are a chemical reaction? The Science table was a fascinating exploration for families, and the opportunity to take home their own Wack a Pack was a wonderful souvenir. The Journalism students created a special edition of The Shamrock in which they reported on the Kennedy Expo event in real time. They published their special edition last night and our guests received a copy. The Performing Arts student performances in KPAC were not to be missed with both Choir and Theater stunning our community with their incredible talent. Additionally, our families and community were entertained by the jazz band while they enjoyed delicious snacks provided by our clubs and programs.
This past Saturday, January 25th, our students and staff participated in Servathon, a day of service to Fuel the Fight and honor our local firefighters for their heroism. Additionally at Servathon, our IB Diploma Program students worked on their CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) Project Kennedy Chic, a clothing drive to support our community and promote sustainability.
This coming week will also be incredibly exciting. On Monday, January 27th, we will be hosting an IB Parent Learning Walk for our families who want to learn more about our exclusive IB Diploma Program. This is an opportunity for families to visit IB classes. On Tuesday, January 28th, we will be hosting Kite Nite in Room 604 for those families interested in being a part of Kennedy's Exclusive career pathway Kennedy Institute of Technology and Engineering (KITE AI). On Wednesday, January 29th, Kennedy Chic will be open for students in MP1. Students are able to browse and "shop" donated clothes.
On Thursday, January 30th, we will be hosting an IB Parent Night for 10th-grade parents who are interested in having their child join the IB Diploma Program in the 11th grade. You will learn more about the advantages of an IB Diploma Program.
