Stay Healthy
To ensure that our community continues to stay safe, please read the information below:
Covid Positive is treated just like Flu or any other respiratory illnesses- If you are fever free for 24 hours you can return to school. If you are positive without symptoms or fever, youc an return to work.
Here is a guide for respiratory illness-
- You can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
- Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
- You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
- When you go back to your normal activities, take added precautions over the next 5 days, such as taking additional steps for cleaner air, hygiene, masks, physical distancing, and/or testing when you will be around other people indoors. This is especially important to protect people with factors that increase their risk of severe illness from respiratory viruses.
- Keep in mind that you may still be able to spread the virus that made you sick, even if you are feeling better. You are likely to be less contagious at this time, depending on factors like how long you were sick or how sick you were.
- If you develop a fever or you start to feel worse after you have gone back to normal activities, stay home and away from others again until, for at least 24 hours, both are true: your symptoms are improving overall, and you have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication). Then take added precaution for the next 5 days.

TAFE Conference
Our TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) Chapter had a stellar performance at the Area Conference held at Mary Hardin-Baylor on December 3rd. Our students secured 26 competitive state advancements, earning their spot at the 41st Annual Texas Teach Tomorrow Summit in Galveston this February. Great work!!

Volunteer at NYOS Secondary!
NYOS Secondary is looking for volunteers for the 24-25 school year. Any and all support makes a difference, whether it is one hour at the beginning of school or a regular shift throughout the school year.
Hall and Lunch monitors make an impact on the school community, culture and climate. These are wonderful opportunities to connect with NYOS staff and students.

Theatre - End of Semester Class Plays
8th grade Theatre Arts classes and High school Theatre I classes would like to invite you to their end of semester class play performances on Friday 12/13 after school in the PAC.
8th Grade Theatre Arts 7th period will present "A Christmas Carol" at 1pm.
8th Grade Theatre Arts 2nd period will present "Little Women" at 2pm.
HS Theatre I will present "No Body to Murder" a murder mystery comedy at 3pm.
These are FREE and no tickets are needed. We hope you will come support the students and their performances.
Winter Wonderland

The NYOS Secondary Student Council is proud to announce that they will be hosting this year’s Winter Wonderland--an annual winter festival with games, crafts, food, and more--on December 13 from 5:30-8:00 on the NYOS Campus. The event is FREE and open to the public.
