WestPark Elementary School Parent Update
October Newsletter
As we step into October, I want to take a moment to reflect on our journey so far this school year. The energy and enthusiasm in our hallways have been inspiring, and I’m proud of the hard work and dedication displayed by our students and staff.
We would like to welcome our new counselor, Mr. Manske. He comes to us from Mesa and has many years of experience working with elementary and middle school students. Welcome to the Wolf Pack, Mr. Mankse!
October is also a great time to focus on our goals. Let’s continue to support one another academically and emotionally. Remember, each challenge is an opportunity for growth, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
We would like to take a moment to welcome two new members to our teaching staff. We have adding an additional 1st and 3rd grade teacher. Welcome Ms. Null, 1st grade, and Ms. Bruthers, 3rd grade. We are looking forward to a great year!
As we embrace the changing season, let’s carry forward our commitment to excellence and kindness. Thank you for your continued support and engagement.
Educationally yours,
Dr. Carino

Bike & Scooter Reminders
One of the best parts of WestPark is the majority of our students either walk or bike to school. If your student rides a bike or scooter to school, please take a moment to review some safety guidelines.
- Walk your bike or scooter when you are on school grounds
- Be cautious and look both ways before you cross the street
- Lockup your bike or scooter when you are at school to prevent theft
- Wear appropriate safety gear
Parking Lot Safety
Parking lot safety is of the utmost importance for everyone.
Remember these safety tips
Pull into a parking space if you are in the parking lot.
DO NOT block cars into parking spaces in the parking lot
Park in the handicap spaces only if you have a permit to do so
If you do not need to exit/leave your car, use the drop off/pick up lane
Pull forward to the sign that says “STOP HERE” when using the drive thru lane
Do not cut over into the drive thru lane at any time
You cannot leave your car if you are in the drive thru lane.
Remember, we are the models of leadership for our students. It is incredibly important to be kind, patient, and courteous to all members of our community, including staff and other families.

Updated Parent Student Handbook
We would like to take an opportunity to draw your attention to our Buckeye Elementary School District Parent-Student Handbook for the 2024-2025 school year. The handbook provides our families with valuable information on our district's policies and practices. There have been some updates and additions to our handbook this year that families will want to familiarize themselves with; including, but not limited to, reporting a student absence policy, electronic device (cell phone) practice, visitors on campus practice, bullying policy, and parent code of conduct.
Links to the handbook can be found here:
