Thank you to everyone who came out to support our OAV Food and Toy Drive on Saturday! It’s truly inspiring to see our students learn and grow through meaningful projects while giving back to those in need. All the donations collected will go directly to helping individuals and families in our community.

On Monday, we are excited to welcome Libby, Mrs. Toolan's therapy dog, to Irving! Thank you to everyone who has completed the permission slip. We will host two assemblies to introduce Libby to the students. During these assemblies, we’ll discuss why she’s joining us at Irving and review behavioral expectations. All students will attend, observing Libby from a distance. If you prefer that your child not participate, please let us know.

Next week, our students in grades 2nd-5th graders will participate in the winter MAP assessment. This assessment provides valuable insights into how students are progressing so far this school year. Additionally, kindergarten and first-grade students will take the FastBridge assessment in reading and math. Like MAP, FastBridge helps us track early literacy and numeracy development.

Finally, next week is our PTO Penguin Patch! If your child will be shopping, please use the PTO-provided envelope when sending money. Parent volunteers will assist students, but they will ultimately choose their own items.

Joey and the Eagles battled hard in a loss against the Hiawatha Huskies on Monday, but bounced back strong with a win over the Pershing Panthers on Thursday.
