Happy October! It is hard to believe Fall is around the corner. I cannot wait for cooler weather to come into Houston! Thank you for all your support with the September fundraiser. The students did a great job!!

Now October is a busy month for Emery. Our Parent Symposium is coming up on Oct. 22nd from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Please come and listen to all the wonderful speakers we will have during the event. Then our 1st 9 weeks grading period ends on October 18th. The report cards will be available on Home Access Center on Friday Oct. 25th. Our VIPS Welcome Coffee will be Oct. 16th from 9:30 to 10:30am. We want all families to come out and enjoy a tasty breakfast and find out about volunteer opportunities at Emery. Finally we end the month celebrating Red Ribbon Week Oct .28th- Nov. 1st. Please encourage your child to participate in all the week’s activities! Enjoy the month!!

Feliz octubre! No puedo creer que ya llego el otoño. Estoy emocionada de que llegue el clima fresco a Houston! Gracias por todo su apoyo en la recaudación de fondos de septiembre. Nuestros alumnos hicieron muy buen trabajo!!

Octubre es un mes muy ocupado en Emery. Tenemos el Parent Symposium el 22 de octubre de 6:00 -7:30pm. Por favor vengan y escuchen a todos nuestros maravillosos oradores que tendremos durante el evento. Nuestro periodo de calificación de las primeras 9 semanas termina el 18 de octubre. Las boletas de calificación estarán disponibles en el Centro de Acceso al Hogar el viernes 25 de octubre. Nuestro café de bienvenida VIPS será el 16 de octubre de 9:30 am -10:30 am. Queremos que todas las familias vengan a disfrutar de un delicioso desayuno y se enteren de las oportunidades de voluntariado en Emery. Finalmente, terminamos el mes celebrando la Semana del Listón Rojo del 28 de octubre al 1 de noviembre. Anime a su hijo a participar en todas las actividades de la semana! Disfruten el mes!

Parent/Family Visitor Lunch Expectations

• Please stay seated with your child at the designated family tables during your lunch visit (near the windows and/or stage depending on the grade level).
• You are only allowed to eat lunch with your child (not any of their friends)
• You are only allowed to feed your child (not any of their friends)
• When Silent 5 begins at the end of the lunch period, please say goodbye and send your student back to their class table so they can be dismissed with their class.

Expectativas Para los Padres/Familia Para la Hora Del Almuerzo

SOLO tenemos visita de almuerzo los lunes y viernes

• Por favor de sentarse en las mesas designadas para la visita (cerca de las ventanas o escenario dependiendo del grado escolar)
• Solo se le permite almorzar con su hijo (no con alguno de sus amigos).
• Solo se le permite alimentar a su hijo (no a alguno de sus amigos).
• Cuando empiece el silencio de 5 minutos es porque su almuerzo terminó. Puede despedirse de su hijo y necesita regresar a la mesa asignada de su salón y así poder regresar juntos con su clase.

A parent/guardian MUST bring and sign in ANY medication into the clinic. This includes creams, cough drops, inhalers, and other medications. Students may NOT bring it to school in their backpack.

Prescriptions must be within date and have the student’s full name.

If it is an over-the-counter medication such as cough drops, Benadryl, Tylenol, it MUST be a brand new, UNOPENED bottle/bag.

El padre o tutor legal DEBE traer y firmar por CUALQUIER medicamento que quiera en la enfermería. Esto incluye cremas, pastillas para la tos, inhaladores, y otros medicamentos. Los estudiantes NO DEBEN traer medicamento en la mochila.

ESL Classes for Parents

If your child is enrolled in a Cypress-Fairbanks school and you want to learn English, you are invited to enroll in the ESL classes for parents. English classes are FREE! Three levels of English are available – Introduction, Beginner and Intermediate.

We have partnered with a fantastic new yearbook company to bring you amazing yearbooks for the 24/25 school year! Yearbooks will be going on presale soon, and we have some incredible new features this year, Information packets will be going home soon.

We are thrilled to announce that our PTO memberships are off to a fantastic start! 🎉

While we’ve experienced a slight production delay with the merchandise that comes with your memberships, we expect delivery by the end of the week. If all goes according to plan, our fabulous swag bags will be sorted and sent out during the week of the 14th. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience.

We have so many exciting events and activities planned for this year! If you’re not yet a PTO member, now is the perfect time to join. For our current members, please log in and update your information to ensure you receive all the important updates we’re sending out.

Dear Emery Parents,

September has been a very busy month in the library! We have all learned new library procedures, discussed ways to be a good digital citizen, celebrated Hispanic Heritage month, and practiced the character trait, Fairness, with the Bringing out the Best lessons provided by the district. The district also provided the library with six student chromebooks which the students can search for books, change their passwords, or enter LTE tickets.

Please help your student(s) remember to return their library books on their scheduled library day. Teachers have the dates that students visit the library.

There is also lots of new signage and book displays around the library to make book shopping more exciting for our Emery Eagles!!

Coming in December: SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR!!!! Be watching for information about ewallets, a flyer, and information about our Family Event!!

Estimados padres de familia,

Septiembre fue un mes muy ocupado en la biblioteca! Todos aprendimos los nuevos procedimientos de la biblioteca, hablamos de las maneras de ser un buen ciudadano digital, celebramos el mes de la Herencia Hispana, y practicamos los rasgos de carácter, igualdad, con el programa Sacando a relucir las mejores lecciones proporcionas por el distrito. El distrito escolar también le mando a la biblioteca seis chromebooks para que los estudiantes puedan buscar libros, hagan cambio de contraseñas, o hagan su solicitud de LTE( cuando su computadora tiene algún problema).

Por favor ayude a sus hijos a recordar que tienen que regresar sus libros a la biblioteca el día de ir a la biblioteca. Las maestras tienen las fechas en las que los alumnos van a la biblioteca.

También tenemos muchos letreros y libros en demostración por toda la biblioteca para que nuestras Águilas de Emery se diviertan más buscando libros!!

Por venir en Diciembre: LA FERIA DE LIBROS SCHOLASTIC!!!! Esten al pendientes para más información de ewallets, folletos, y más información del Evento de Familia!!
