The Rego Eagle Newsletter
Vol 2. Issue: September 27, 2024
A Message from your Principal, Mr. Rolon
This week we welcomed our Kindergarten parents to our first “Coffee and Conversation” event of the school year. It was a great turnout and a wonderful opportunity to connect with the newest members of our school community.
Earlier in the week we also had our first PTA meeting night, which was also well attended by parents and teachers. Our PTA board has been hard at work making sure that our parents are well informed about everything going on in our school and the entire NYC Public Schools system.
The school year is off to a good start so far. We are continuing to navigate the challenges of the construction projects that are happening around the school, although the actual work is being done during the nights and weekends. Our classes have settled into their routines and schedules and are students are hard at work on their learning for the year. Our Parent Coordinator Mrs. Burgos has her parent workshops scheduled and will be sending out information as they come up. This is another great opportunity to meet and interact with the school community and other parents, so please join us for those if possible.
We are also making preparations for some fun activities for our students. We’ll be doing our Color Challenge as we did last year, as well as our annual Halloween parade in the coming weeks. As always, please keep an eye on this newsletter and other communications from our Parent Coordinator for news on upcoming events.
Next week is a short week for us. School is closed Thursday and Friday, so please plan accordingly. Have a great weekend!

Dear Rego Eagle Families:
We're excited to announce that our school will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair, which will take
place from Tuesday, October 15th though Monday, October 21st from 9am to 1:45pm.
For students, it’s one of the most anticipated events of the school year—but we need volunteers
to make it happen. We hope that you can offer your time and talents to help students
experience Bookjoy firsthand! And every purchase at the Fair directly benefits our school.
So, it’s a win-win!
If you’re available to lend a hand at this upcoming event, please contact us and share which
Fair activities interest you most.

Complete the Family Income Survey
Each school year, all of our families complete the Family Income Survey. You may wonder why it is so important. When all of our families complete the form, this helps with Title I funding. Title I funding is a huge asset to our school. This funding helps all students, through staffing, extra-curricular programs, and supplies. Please complete the form online to ensure that our funding remains.
