Principal Ayler's Announcements!
Homecoming week is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are Stoked to Celebrate the Rangers and their homecoming this week. We will have fun events happening all week to celebrate and help our Cougars learn the appropriate ways to enjoy school and homecoming activities as they prepare to enter high school!
Join us TOMORROW, Tuesday at 7pm at BOBCAT stadium to watch our Cougars take on the Monforton Wildcats! The date has changed due unforeseen circumstances, but we want to fill the crowd with lots of SGMS pride and cheer on our football team! So please join us TOMORROW! Admission is free, what a great way to spend an autumn evening!
We are also very excited for our 6th Grade Cougars to go on their first CSC Cougar Career Day tomorrow (Tuesday) to Sage Lodge! Lots of pictures to come!
We had a small change in staffing last week, when Ms. Wadeson resigned, but we are excited to welcome Mrs. LaRue Seitz-Dettori as her long-term substitute as we search for a new English teacher. We are very lucky to have Mrs. Seitz-Dettori as a part of our SGMS family!
Lastly, HUGE thanks to Sara Brown for spearheading our new SGMS Booster Club! Sara is now our President of SGMS Boosters, along with Jessi Tyner as VP and Concessions Chair, Jennifer Counts as Treasurer, and Brandie Boese as Secretary. We still need LOTS of volunteers to help! There are tons of ways to get involved, and it doesn't have to be super time-consuming! If you are interested in giving back, and donating some time, please reach out to Sara at SGMSBooster@gmail.com
Here is to another great week in #CougarNation!
SGMS Athletics & Activities
XC in Big Timber
Big Timber was very windy Saturday morning, but that didn’t deter SGMS from running strong in the 1.5 mile course at Overland Golf Course. Langley Hamilton led the boys team in 5th place, followed by Kaleb Marsh in 9th and Logan Marsh in 17th. Overall the boys team placed a solid 2nd place behind Belgrade.
Maeve McGrath once again led the girls team in 4th place, with Hannah Boyce directly behind in 5th. Esperanza Hernandez ran well in 14th. Overall the girls team placed a respectable 4th place as a team.
This is the last week of training for Cross Country with our final meet in Bozeman on Saturday, Oct 12th. Good Luck Cougars!

A Note from Nurse Holly...
The Ranger Clinic
The Ranger Clinic is located at Park High School, but available for both SGMS and PHS students to use. Paula Coleman, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and Dr. Chris Spromberg, Clinical Psychologist, staff the clinic on various days. The clinic offers a convenient way for students to be seen for their physical and behavioral health needs. Parental consent is always required for a student to be seen. To schedule an appointment with Paula, you may either call LHC at (406) 222-3541 and ask to be scheduled at the Ranger Clinic or email holly.sienkiewicz@livingston.k12.mt.us. To schedule with Dr. Spromberg please call LHC.
The MERET SURVEY at SGMS
The Meret Survey is an online social-emotional screening tool (Student Mental Health Screening – School-Based Mental and Behavioral Health – Livingston Public Schools) developed by the Rural Behavioral Health Institute designed to identify students who may need more support. Students take the 10-15 minute survey during Advisory, 1st period. Should their answers indicate the need for follow-up, either Holly Sienkiewicz, School Nurse, or Chelsey Zahn, School Counselor, with further assess them. You will be notified if this occurs. This is an opt-out screening. You had the opportunity to opt-out (meaning you do not want your student to do the screening) during registration. If you would like to opt-out now, please email: holly.sienkiewicz@livingston.k12.mt.us
The Meret Survey will be conducted on:
9/23 - 8th graders
9/25 - 7th graders
9/30 - 6th graders
