Book of Remembrance
As November is the month of Remembrance, we will be passing our Book of Remembrance from class to class in the next few weeks to record the names of our family and friends who have died in the past year. We invite students and staff to bring pictures (preferably mounted or framed) and/or small mementos of any family members or friends who have died. They will be reverently displayed and will serve as a reminder of these loved ones and our call to pray for them. Please write your child's name on the back of the picture or memento so that we can return them at the end of November.
CATHOLIC EDUCATION SUNDAY
We recognize Catholic education as a gift – a gift that we treasure and protect. On Catholic Education Sunday, we acknowledge the value and blessing of our Catholic schools and give thanks for the faith-based education they offer. Here in Alberta, unlike some other provinces, we are especially blessed to have a publicly-funded Catholic education. Let us continue to pray for this wonderful gift.
We celebrate the gift of Catholic Education on Sunday, November 26. Our school will be represented at the 9:00 AM Mass at St. Albert Parish and Mrs. Giacobbo & Mrs. Michael will be teaching Children's Liturgy that day - please join us to celebrate Catholic Education together!
Community Engagement Update Programming and School Configuration: A Conversation with Our Communities.
At Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, we are dedicated to providing the best possible educational experience for our students while also ensuring the continued growth and presence of our community. Over the past year, we have taken significant steps to address various challenges, including aging infrastructure, underutilized schools, and expanding into new areas, which have resulted in increased enrollment. These efforts underscore our commitment to creating a future that serves not only our students and their families but also the broader community.
As we continue on this path of progress, we see tremendous opportunities regarding programming and grade configuration as we look to the future. Are there certain programs in our schools that might be missing? Are there programs that work really well and should be included within other schools? Do our grade configurations work well? How might they work better? Our goal is to continue increasing enrolment within our schools, and your feedback regarding programming and grade configurations will support this endeavour.
Our objective is to shape our schools in a manner that aligns with the needs and aspirations of our community while ensuring the optimal utilization of resources. I want to emphasize that no final decisions have been made yet regarding schools, grades, or programs. Your input is pivotal in this process.

It will help us optimize the use of school facilities, strategically position our Division for future funding, and support the development of new schools. Additionally, this clarity will instill confidence in our current and prospective families, assuring them of our commitment to delivering exceptional educational opportunities.
