Happy Fall, Pick Families!
Greetings!
We have officially welcomed the Fall season! The slightly cooler weather offers exciting opportunities for seasonal family fun. I've shared some of my family's traditions below. I hope you are all able to carve out some time in this busy season to create some beautiful memories with quality family time!
As we prepare to head into October this week, I have continued to reflect on how proud I am of our Pick Leaders and their ROCKING start to this school year! We have many exciting activities in store this month, beginning with our PES Book Fair this week! Please see the flyer below for shopping information. Mark your calendars for these upcoming dates:
- On Monday, October 7th, we will have a special school wide assembly with guest author, Bruce Cameron!
- October 10th marks the end of our first 9 weeks and the final day for academic grades for this term.
- First 9 weeks Report Cards will go home on October 23rd.
- We will begin preparing for Student Led Conferences this month! Each homeroom teacher will share dates to sign up for a conference session. As we encourage students to be leaders of their learning, students will lead their conference time with you as they present growth areas they are proud of and goals for the upcoming nine weeks.
- Students will be out of school on Friday, October 18th and Monday, October 21st for a Fall Holiday and Parent Conference/Staff Development Day.
- We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week, October 22-25!
- October 28th is Fall Picture Make-up Day.
Happy Fall!

Mrs. Brown's Counseling Corner
This month, our counseling focus is on "Begin with the End in Mind." We're learning about setting clear goals and using step-by-step instructions for problem-solving.
Here's how you can support this at home:
1. Set goals
2. Create a plan
3. Use visual reminders
4. Reflect together
By reinforcing these strategies, you can help your child build a strong foundation in goal-setting and problem-solving. Regular attendance is crucial for academic success and social skill development. Your support makes a significant impact on their learning journey. Thank you for your partnership!
