A Note From Mrs. Diee
Hello, Lyncrest Families!
As we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader whose vision of equality, justice, and peace continues to inspire us, we want to remind you that school will be closed on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This national holiday serves as an opportunity to reflect on Dr. King's impactful contributions to the civil rights movement and to encourage acts of kindness, service, and unity in our own communities.
In recognition of Dr. King's life and legacy, classroom activities and discussions in grades K-4 have already begun and will continue next week. These lessons are designed to help our young learners understand his message and the importance of treating everyone with dignity and respect.
We encourage everyone to take time during this holiday to reflect on Dr. King's powerful message and consider ways to contribute to building a more inclusive and compassionate world.
The Student Council is excited to announce our "Soup-er Bowl" soup collection to support those in need! Each classroom will have a collection box, and we encourage students and families to contribute canned soups throughout the week. To add to the fun, we will announce class totals daily to celebrate everyone’s efforts. Let’s see which class can bring in the most! To wrap up the collection, staff and students are invited to wear their favorite jerseys on Monday, February 10th, as we show our team spirit and commitment to helping others. Thank you for your generosity and participation!
