Message from the Principal
Wildcat Families,
I hope that you’re able to enjoy a the long weekend with your kids as we take some valuable time here at CFT to do some collective planning and learning in regards to the work we have ahead of us this winter, especially in regards to better understanding ourselves and our students as we work to build and maintain a supportive learning environment.
This is a significant weekend as we take the time to honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose efforts toward making dignity, safety and belonging fundamental rights and not privileges resound today just as they did decades ago. We uphold the dreams of Dr. King here at CFT, continuously working for a better future. Over the next couple weeks we’ll be encouraging our students to dream about ways to improve our classrooms, school and community, displaying these dreams on bulletin boards here in our school as symbols of thinking, action and sacrifice. My dream is that every student feels CFT is a place where they feel welcomed, celebrated and appreciated for the gifts that they bring with an understanding that we can all learn and grow together.
At the meeting of the TTSD School Board on Monday night, Superintendent Dr. Iton Udosenata shared some comments that I’d like to echo to you in case you weren’t able to hear them live. He said, our schools are places where “every child, every family and every staff member has a place where they belong…TTSD will continue to stand as a place of belonging and protection for all students regardless of their background or immigration status. We’re here to provide safety, civility and opportunity because that’s how we carry forward not just Dr. King’s dream, but also the dreams of every student that we serve.” These remarks came after the board passed TTSD’s resolution about safe and welcoming schools. If you’d like to learn more about the resolution, please click here.
Have a great long weekend.
Sincerely,
Tim, Principal
Mensaje del Director
Familias Wildcat,
Atentamente,
Tim, Director
