Principal's Update
Dear MSMS Community
Hope this past week has found you well. This week we have March Madness, Caregiver Conferences and another board meeting where our School Board will discuss and hopefully make a decision about the budget to be voted on April 30th.
Please let us know what questions you may have and stay connected to the work of our school board as they work hard to determine what's in the best interest for our students, staff and schools while offering a fiscally responsible budget to our Montpelier and Roxbury voters. We also hope that you will personally commit to voting on April 30th! Your civic engagement is an example to our Gators!
Thank you all for your great support of our school.
Best, Julie

MSMS Ambassadors and Facilitators for RVS Transition Program
Last year, we had our inaugural run at creating a thoughtful transition plan for welcoming our Roxbury Village School 4th graders to MSMS. It's a big change for those students to go from a school of 40 to a school of 350! We are finalizing our planning stages for our second year of this program and our students are so excited. We partner Main Street Middle School 5th and 6th grade students with a RVS 4th graders and a UES 4th grader for a series of three transition days. These MSMS mentors/ambassadors build connections and support students who may be a mixture of both excited and nervous about coming to MSMS in the fall. This year, we asked our 5th and 6th graders who would be interested in being an ambassador and we had over 60 students volunteer! This is so amazing that so many of our students are eager and excited to help make our school feel welcoming to our soon-to-be Gators! We selected a total of 14 students who will be working as mentors. We also have 5 students in 7th and 8th grade that will be leading and helping to facilitate this program. Our first day of this program is next week where we will travel to Roxbury Village School in the morning to start building our connections!
